Have you ever bought a game because of a TV ad?

Seeing the newest Kevin Butler commercial for Uncharted 2, it got me thinking. Even though it's an awesome commercial (It's got Kevin Butler for christ sake) I really don't think I'd buy the game because of it.

Is there any game that you've bought because of it's advertising on TV?

No only ever seen 2 games advertised on TV ever and that was gta 4 and mgs back in the ps1 days

Yeah, I got coaxed into buying Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus when I was younger because of the cinematics and shit only to find out that it sucked balls. I haven't watched TV for a while now so I don't see advertisements for games much anymore, I prefer just to follow series that I've enjoyed and take recommendations from friends.

never. i think that tv ads never really show what the game can do, hell half of them dont even show gameplay.

The series of "Gary Busey" ads for Saints Row 2 convinced me to buy that one.

I've never even seen TV ads for games, and by the time i've seen them on the internet, i've already got the game.

The only scenario to jump to mind was Kingdom Hearts the first.

That song was simply hypnotic.

The commercial didn't convince me, but it interested me greatly and led me to do some research that ultimately caused the purchase. The game was Ratchet and Clank for PS2, and if I wasn't already going to buy Uncharted 2, that commercial would have ignited some interest for me as well.

Guilty. I bought Assassins Creed because it looked good in the commercial.
But all is well for it also looked good in my living room.

No, and the only games big enough to warrant a TV ad will have already been heard of by everyone in the industry.

Television adverts never make me buy a game, because usually I knew about it and was going to buy it well in advance of the advert, or because the game is crap and I don't want it.

I generally don't buy games on day one, and usually not until I can get them used (yes, I'm cheap) so advertising has little effect on me. Recently saw an ad for Brutal Legend, but it certainly didn't make me want the game.
