The Mighty Boosh, I saw the episode where a guy gets kidnapped by a transsexual seamonster and fell in love with the surreal humour.

Dragon Age: Origins, it was one of the only games being released around the time of my birthday, and my Father thought the cover looked cool, and it has since become one of my favorite titles.

Boondock Saints. Was in my first school after completeing Navy boot camp, and was trying to go to sleep. My roommate and a friend instead were going to watch it, with the buddy that came over offering to let me sleep in his room (we had the only working DVD player at the time.) We had locks like hotels now, where you put in a card to unlock, and I couldn't get his to work, so gave up and went to watch the movie instead. Instantly fell in love with it, and is now my favorite movie ever.

Cowboy Bebop. couple of years ago a friend of mine at school, who was in year 12, the tallest/largest in the year, and most likely the strongest, was really into Mange/anime. And he had enough disposable income to get heaps of it. (one time, he bought the movie Mr Bean, for the sole purpose of destroying a copy.... yeesh)

Anyway, he gave a copy of the first few episodes of Cowboy Bebop, and i loved it instantly. (Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky 4th) RADICAL ED IS SOOOOOOO CUUUUUUTE!!!! GAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

....

*ahem* another thing i found accidentally was Kingdom Hearts. You'll never believe it, but i first saw it because my Nan was playing it when i came over to visit O_O. I'm in love with that series of games too.

Someone on the forums mentioned the SCP Foundation not too long ago - couldn't stop reading the articles since.
House MD when I was about 11 or 12, but I stopped watching it after the season 6 finale.
Fire Emblem. I've only played the GBA ones on my emulator, but I saw it in a list of recommended games for the console, and decided to give it a go.

A TV show called Code Lyoko was displayed as part of a programming block. I liked the first and last shows, but the middles I had never seen, until one day. I grew to love this show. Not the other one, whatever it was.
Thank you so much for mentioning that show! I used to love it and yesterday I tried making a slist of all the anime I have watched and I knew i was forgetting some because 28 was too little. You just bumped it up one more!

This. 100% true, also discovered on accident.

Another thing I discovered on accident was Morrowind.
I had never heard about it or the rest of the Elder Scroll games.
I was walking in a normal toy store looking for a game to play. I found the Black gold GOTY edition and read the back. It promised huge, outstretched landscapes and hundred hours of game experience. I thought: "sure, it does". But I was curious and it costed only 5 Euro, so I bought it.

When I first walked out of the census office in Sceyda Neen, I was stunned, I didn't know that this was even possible.

Blew my mind, but in a good way =)

ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com. Someone on this forum posted about a review of the old Super Mario Bros Super show a couple years ago, and I watched it, and over the next couple weeks I must have watched almost every video on the site. To this day I always check back once a day to see their latest stuff.

Almost a year ago, there was this news story [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/103923-8-Bit-Parody-of-Cee-Los-F-k-You-Has-Got-Soul]. Damn, time goes by fast. It feels like it's only been a few months.
Woah! That was September?! It does seem like only a couple months ago.

Why yes. Down here in Florida at least, I believe the date is within this month, if not next week. A promotional cover was on display of a green dragon (I forget which dragon from the books was green, I need to reread the whole 2700 or so pages again) last week so it is definitely coming soon.
*Spits out soda in surprise

This MONTH? Really?! Wow, I didn't know it was so soon! Thanks for telling me. I think I have to look up the info for the book now. Gosh, it's been so long XD
Say what? This month?! I'd given up looking on the website every now and then for a date, it's been ages.

Now that is indeed interesting news

As for my mine, the biggest one is the Discworld series. Randomly got the first two books just before going on holiday as something to read on the plane - Freakin' loved every second, and have acquired the entire series over the last year or so ^_^

EDIT: Nope. His website says November 8th this year...ah well.

My dad got me a Gameboy Advance SP at a pawn shop once and the was a copy of Metroid Fusion in it. Well, before I always thought it looked somewhat ridiculous, and was interested in playing it, but because there was already a game in there I decided to play it, and that's what caused me to like the metroid series so much.
