My friend borrowed red faction last June. Haven't seen it since.
I had the game for 1 month before he took it! And he still won't give it back...

luckily i don't but if i did and they wanted to borrow a game, i would make a point in telling them look look after it and that they can do what they like with their stuff but i want my stuff back in the same condition i leant it to them.

I have a little brother who the best I finally could get him to do was to keep games on top of their box if they were out (he'd leave them on top of the console and countertop before). This is mostly because he doesn't buy games at full price most times (and often buys online, using less tangible money meaning I doubt he really gets the same feeling of worth), so he seems to take the $60 piece of software for granted.

When he fucked up my new Assassin's Creed Disc though, that's when things crossed the line. From then on, we had a deal that if he messed up a game, he would buy it again, full price, or failing that, ebay it accepting nothing less than a quality seller and a like new (if less than 6 months old) or good condition. Suddenly my discs at least are better taken care of.

I haven't had a really bad experience since grade school, and I've been pretty cautious about who I lend to ever since then. The incident in question is when I leant Mach Rider for NES to a friend, and she turned around and lent it to someone who never returned it. Thankfully adults don't tend to think that's ok.

Yep. I've had my Red Alert 2 Soviet disk scratched beyond any repair. Sad face.

Oh, and a missing manual.

I don't lend my games out to friends. One of my best friend always forgets she borrows it from me and says she doesn't have it and I never see my game again. SO no one gets my games.

In over 9 or so years of my life I have had 1 broken game due to my little sister, Blinx 2, a game I loved when I was younger, almost all of my games still work, except when OTHER people feel the need to touch them.

Well, lessee... yes.

There are two types of games I lend: Old stuff that I no longer/rarely play, but remember as a good game, and new stuff. It's a bit more complicated for the latter. Basically, in general, finish the game ASAP so I can pass it on to whoever. If someone was actually looking forward to a game, on the other hand, I will lend it before I play it myself, console included, if necessary. I've also translated a few games in the past, manual and all - just old PC stuff - since most of my friends only speak Japanese.

Having stuff scratched or stepped on? It happens from time to time. Somehow, when it happens, I generally end up apologizing. Simply never having the game returned is waaaaaaay more common, but I don't mind it. Means they're having fun, right? Thankfully, I generally get the consoles back eventually, but I've had a few cases of having to get a new PS2.

So yes, in short, it happens a fair bit. Doesn't bother me, though.

Yes has happened tons of times mostly with DVDs, one of my friends actually borrowed my boxset of the sopranos and then moved. Plus everything comes back smelling of cigarette smoke, which really annoys me, while i do smoke i always do so outside so my room and possessions do not end up smelling of smoke.

Anyway this is why i refuse to lend people things any more.

a while back, when ocarina of time was still new, and I had already finished the game, i lent it to a friend of mine, never got it back. he lost it. So I had to buy it again, which also meant I lost my fuckn saved game. Man that pissed me off.

Yep. It was a PSO game for PC...all I know is that next in one week time, it had weird blackheads on it.

Blackheads...my Disk has blackheads, who knew technology could have beauty problems too?
