Yes and no.

I have called in on days I just didn't feel like working. Then sat around and played games all day. I have not called in because a specific game was released that I just had to play.

Same here. Although I still get paid for the day even though I am not there. My job gives me 7 sick days a year I can use at my discretion. As well as 2 personal holidays and 1 week of vacation time. All paid so I make out pretty good when I don't feeling like going in hehe.

You have a set amount of time that you can be sick for every year? This is why I'm not bothering looking for a job.
