Humans... Surrounding me... I see them everyday, shooting me looks, looking at me... Judging me. Simon thought to himself as he made his way down to the wharf. He was oing to discuss a contract with his new partner. He was going to supply them with their gear, nets, line, the works, and in return, he gets a cut. As he walked, people stopped to stare at his appearance. At his pale, ghostly skin, his nearly hairless body, and his eyes... Especially his eyes. A small child ran up to him and asked him. "Hey, mister! why do you look like a ghost?!" the child said, with a small chuckle. Simon stared down at him, angrily and the boy shrunk before his mother came. "I'm so sorry, sir, my son was just..." She stopped in the middle of her sentence when she noticed his eyes. She started backing away, then she turned around and walked off without a single word. Humans... All the same.
He walked down to the wharf, getting sstill more looks as he passed by. When he walked by, it seemed as if all the work stopped as the men starred at him. He could hear their whispers. He met up with his partner, a man by the name of "Louis". "Hey, if it isn't Simon. Still pale as a ghost, eh?" He said. Simon's face didn't change, just kept the contempt face it always had. A face that seemed to hate the world. "Yeah, Louis." He shook Louis' hand. "I see you haven't changed either..." Louis lauhed. "Yeah, nothin much changes here. C'mon, i know you're dying to get this over with." Louis led Simon onto his ship. Louis's crewmates looked at Simon, it's not like they'd never seen him, they just never got... Used to him. They sat down at a table in the captain's room. Louis pulled out an official looking doccument. "To make sure our deal's final..." He said. Simon sighed and read it over. "Wait... this says I only get 5%..." He said. Louis shrugged. "Yeah, so?" Simon shot up and looked anrily at Louis. "SO?! THAT'S NOT THE DEAL WE TALKED ABOUT! WE AGREED THAT I GET 15%! I CAN'T LIVE OFF 5!" Louis didn't yell back at Simon. "Whoa, whoa, Simon. Take it easy. We'll get a big haul, you'll be able to live off 5%, after all, it's not like you got a family to feed." Simon took it hard, he punched Louis in the nose. "SHUT UP! Screw this deal! i don't need this shit!" He said before storming out. Louis got back up and shouted out the door to him, holdin his nose. "YEAH! GO HOME YOU FREAK! WHY DON'T YOU TRY TO FIND A GGIRL WHO'LL ACTUALLY LIKE YOU! OH THAT'S RIGHT! YOU CAN'T, CAUSE YOU'RE A FREAK!" Simon hid his head and almost started running. He felt like the people were watching him again, but so many more, like an entire crowed had gathered and started laughing at him, pointing fingers at him.
He ran straigght home, not looking up to see anyone looking at him. He slammed the door to his small, one story that he barely managed to pay for and locked the door. We sighed and walked upstairs to his bedroom. He looked around at it, it only had the bed and a small table. On the table was an ornate, wooden box. he opened the box and took out two thins, a picture frame and a pendant, a beautiful, emerald pendant with the Initials "RK" engraved in old. He grabbed the jewel and gripped it tightly. He looked at the picture, it was a picture of him and Rosa at seventeen, about a month before... The incident, Her head was restingg on his shoulder, her beautiful, brunette hair draped itself over his shoulder. She was huggingg him and he hugged her back. They were sitting on a park bench. He didn't even remember where the picture was taken, but he loves it none the less. He remembered how kind Rosa was, despite everyone else around him. Tears rolled down his cheek. "Rosa... I love you so much... Why couldn't everyone be as kind as you? Why did you have to die?" He put the pendant to his chest and cried, softly.
