"Here": A survival-horror RP

Here are my two character sheets, and the second one is a girl. As I said earlier I would be willing to play as a girl if we need more of them. Please tell me which one you would rather I use, or you would prefer to play with.
Escapist username: Dark42
Character Name: Alex "Bear" Stanger
Sex: M
Age: 31
Physical Description: 6'4, very burly and scary looking. Has long shaggy blond hair tied off with a bandana, and is always clean shaven, blue eyes, dresses in standard hiking gear with the exception of his boots which are combat boots making him a whopping 6'6.
Background: Born and raised in the wilderness of Canada a true Wildman. When he was 6 he got lost in the woods and was alone for three days. During which Alex was hunted by a cougar and very narrowly escaped by slashing the cougar with a large piece of obsidian. After he was determined to become a master of the woods, but he still harbours a great fear of cats and being alone in the woods. Alex got the nickname "Bear" because of his huge size and deep gruff voice, but to his annoyance every girl he meets calls him "Teddy" or "Teddy bear."
Talents: Expert tracker, exceptional hearing, very strong due to his size, and makes friends very easily.
Flaws: not very good with technology, tends to scare people, and can't stand to be alone.
Item: His trusty hatchet that he never leaves home without.
Sentimental item: The piece of obsidian that saved his life, that hangs ever faithfully on his neck.

Physical Description: Average height and build, long dirty blond hair, brown eyes, her only distinctive feature is that she has a birthmark shaped like a heart on her left shoulder.
Background: At the age of 6 her family when out for a picnic while Samantha was in the washroom her entire Family was murdered by a man with a machete. Samantha arrived just in time to see the murderer strike the final blow on her mother. The murderer the proceeded to laugh manically and ran away never to be seen again. Samantha was then obsessed with finding this man, and ended up as an agent for the CIA, and continues to do all she can to find her family's murderer.
Talents: all the skills required to be a CIA agent, very observant and good at making connections others miss.
Flaws: has a hard time dealing with people, isn't very emotional almost robotic thinking only of the next logical steps.
Item: her handgun that has been with her since her days back at the academy.

Background: James had a fairly average life until the age of 10 when, in a spur of the moment thing, fell out of a tree trying to rescue his cat. He broke his right leg and a few ribs. As a concicence he only go outside to go to school and ,when he graduated, to work..He still walks with a limp in his right leg.
Talents: Computer Wiz, Level headed and a good stratagist.
Flaws:Quick to anger, Unfit and a fear of hights.

Sentimental item: A knife blade from a Swiss army knife. It was given to him by his grandmother for his 7th birthday.
