Your friendly neighbourhood mod reminding you the joys of spelling and grammar.

OT: No, they're pretty stupid for calling you a homophobe just because you're heterosexual. That's pretty dumb.

I mean, you were drunk, so maybe you DID sound like a homophobe. If it came off like "What? No, gross, why would I want to do a faggy thing like kiss a gay guy? That's so gay, and I'm not a fag! I'M NOT A FAG!!" then yeah, you're a homophobe.

To be honest, I think it was the fact that you said it was "Gross" that made them call you a homophobic. Perhaps you might want to go back and rephrase yourself.

It sounds like you were set up. If you had said `yes`, everyone would go `ew that`s gross, you`re so gay`, whereas if you said `no`, then you are a homophobe.

Seems like a catch 22 situation. Maybe you need your friends go grow up a little. So what if you think that two men kissing is gross, you are entitled to your opinion and it is no-one`s place to belittle you for it.

Not that your should be mean to gay people though.

Sure is a lot of dumbass kids out there who can't tell the difference between not wanting to be something versus being against it. Offhand, I'd say the schools have completely failed if this is what they brought the generation in with. The tragic thing is one day these kids are going to be voters (assuming they're not already) and this tendency to kneejerk is put a truly terrible people in charge.

Or maybe I'm the one overreacting and all the OP had to do is tell them that they're misunderstanding him. They probably heard "I don't want to kiss guys" and somehow, through the magic of mob mentality (assisted by drugs) this became "I hate gays." You have to have the persistence to point out where they misinterpreted you. In fact, a lot of people do this deliberately just to try to get more popular by putting you down. Douchebags.

Just like being racist, there is nothing innately wrong with being homophobic. I am all for gay rights but I can't stand the sight of two guys kissing or holding hands(looking at each other the right way makes me a little uneasy) which makes me homophobic to a point. Now I am not going to prevent or condemn them for it I will just ask to tone down the PDA around me and they usually respect my wishes.

I played Spin the Bottle. There was about a 3:1 girl/boy ratio, so it was ultimately a plus. But I still kissed dudes. :(

Personally I have nothing against gays, or lesbians, or whatever. A close friend of 9 years is gay, and I don't give a damn.

But I don't like playing Tongue Twister with other guys, it just doesn't appeal.

You aren't a homophobe at all. You're just the only person out of your friends that happens to be the least bit sane.

I'm so sick of the whole "homofob." thing when you don't want to hear about gay stuff.
It can be stupid, but is makes sense. A lot of gay people, including myself, can be insecure about themselves and when people badmouth or tease their orientation, they get very defensive very quickly

Yes but when you wrap your whole being into being gay that's what gets on my nerves.

funny that you mention it, cause that's how i lost my job at disneyland. this one chick that i worked with hated me because i was straight and had a girlfriend. im not kidding. so she proceeds to make my life a living hell for 2 months, and i finnally had it one day and told the manager i want a transfer to DCA (california adventure, wanted to get as far away from fantasyland as possible) and she said ok. soon after i get a call saying that the same chick told the manager that i was always yelling at her even though it was a total lie, and that i had to go in for psychiatric evaluation. so i just gave them my 2 weeks notice rather than give them a reason to try and fire me.

Nope, probably will though one of my closest friends is bi, and a lot of her friends are also gay/bi and they are a bunch of asswipes if I ever did see any.

Your friends sound a little ignorant about the point youre trying to make, just explain it to them in a very civilized manner- you can make them understand hopefully
