you should all be ashamed. im glad capcom is trying to keep the series going by making it into something fresh rather then having to deal with the same cocky old dante. these things are always make or break but i for one would rather see the dmc series reinvent itself rather then watch it fade away amongst dantes chessy one liners and predictable "imma save the world!" plots

I agree, except for the part of him no longer being cocky. Watch the trailer. He's still cocky. People just see his hair style and automatically assume they know his personality. Jesus christ people, the knee jerk reactions are so passe.

I can take that Dante was a punk when he was younger and looking at the trailer again I do see streaks of white hair on the top of his head. Maybe this is where we see his demon powers actually awaken.

First, Dante has "demon-touched" white hair as a sign that he's demonspawn. Second, Dante was a metalhead/punk rocker, not an emo kid.
Second, why would he have scratches and bruises when it's well-established in the series that as a half-demon he has an incredible healing factor(enough to recover from being impaled in the heart in a manner of seconds) and would never have bruises or scratches long enough to notice in the first place?

Dante's younger self?
No!

I hope you're right. This is too much of a retcon to hold, and there is no more of Dante's backstory to tell unless we really want to know what life was like for him while he was just hunting demons for money.
