9mm Beretta from Freedom Fighters. I have actually sniped people with it because the programmers let the bullets go into infinity and it had plenty of ammo so I could just take guys out from a football field away. Obviously it was completely inaccurate but oh so satisfying getting a head shot on a guy with a AK with my puny 9mm. I just aimed high and to the left.

Fallout 3's sniper rifle was very satisfying. Especially the time i was infiltrating a raider base in the dead of night, picking off sentries and splattering their heads with that satisfying noise.

Edit: and the gauss rifle. aaaawwwww yeeeaaaaaaah
This. Totally.

If your good enough, any weapon is a sniper rifle.

But I prefer Bolt Action, because 1 shot is all it takes.

A bolt action Sniper Rifle because only bad snipers need more than one shot.
This. Unless you are fighting with 2 or more enemies, the first time you lose, is the moment your enemies gain a MASSIVE advantage against you. They know where you are (if they are good) and, well... they will move faster, hide more effectively...

And you are screwed.

Best weapon ever was the simple crossbow from Call of Juraez because when you aimed everything wnet SLOW MOTION ! But I'd go with W2000 from Hitman games, it gives me erection.

I always found the crossbow from Half-Life 2 very satisfying, in part because it looked really nice and in part because I love crossbows but mostly because it nailed people to walls, and that's always cool.

I loves me some semi-auto sniping, especially if made by a nice little company called Barrett.

a kar-98k always works for me, but the only game I bother sniping at is the COD games, others I just run around with a SMG or shotgun being a prick

I actually prefer my modded Scoped Lincoln's Repeater.
But I have to say lever action sniping is my favorite.
Although I've yet to see games use lever action sniping.

I will go with the Fallout 3 Gauss Rifle.

Not counting sniper rifles in online matches, I'd probably pick the W2000 sniper from the Hitman games. It looks pretty nice, is hidden inside a briefcase, it's silenced and it has pretty good zoom-in.

And it shoots superheated rebars. Can't overlook that detail. :p

In video games, you can't beat the Farsight XR-20 from Perfect Dark; it could see through an infinite number of walls, shoot through all of them, and kill you with a shot that grazed your foot. In a real engagement, forced to use a sniper/designated marksman weapon, I'd have to go with either a Mk11 or a SAMR.

The semi-automatic sniper because I love shooting from 2 miles away.
What kind of semi-automatic rifle are you firing that holds a minute of angle over 2 miles?

AND the rebars actually bounce off surfaces if you hit them right! So you can get awesome looking rebound kills :D
