since it has been announced, along with 2 other sequels by IO interactive, what's your idea of the things/elements that should be implemented to make it even better than Blood Money or Silent Assassin ?

personally i suggest they remain with the musical recepy of mixing orchestral and electronic music, with Jesper Kyd.

apart from that, i'd like to get more open sites, with even more possibilities of different approaches to a target.

A bit more mobility would be nice, even though I understand that this is no Assassin's Creed it just seems weird to not be able to jump whenever you feel like it. Other than that I'm just psyched that there's a sequel coming.

I believe they should just scratch the series entirely and make a new, original IP that uses original mechanics instead of just milking the franchise for profit. Seriously, developers and publishers, WE'RE TIRED OF THE SAME SHIT BEING COPIED OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Care to innovate or should we get the torches and pitchforks?

that is true, they could do another project at the same time... but the amount of work would double for them.

If the game uses the same mechanics and gameplay as Hitman, why not just make it a Hitman game?

Ah, my bad. I appear to be completely incapable of reading things correctly. =P

More open ended levels, also making it a little harder would be nice, but I suppose that would rely more on the AI than anything, other than that I found Blood Money endlessly enjoyable to replay over and over working out the fastest and most efficient way through each level for the SA rating with all accidents... So I would be happy with 'more of the same' really.

Yeah...

Fuck that. Hitman's essentially the only series of its kind. They're hardly milking it, yes there have been 4 games so far, but the last one came out 5 years ago. Not exactly wanking the series dry, are they?

OT: I would like to see some massive new levels, better AI (primarily a more advanced policing system), a more in-depth notoriety system and economy too.

And some better writing. The stories aren't bad for games, but:

Silent Assassin's... well, Silent Assassin's I quite enjoyed actually. But Contracts' was non-existent, and Blood Money's felt a little half-baked. I'm pretty sure the only way you knew what Burnt Face Man's actual motivation for hunting 47 was, was if you read his profile on the game's website.

Oh god, and fix the character models too.

Honestly, I'd like to see the game transition into more Deus Ex territory - levels are huge, you can ask people questions to get information (or increase their suspicion by asking the wrong questions, or too many), etc. etc.

To be honest, as long as the leap is the equivalent of that from Contracts to Blood Money (and not SA to Contracts, which was a regression) its cool with me.

Keep the civilian mission-types though, as opposed to the spy-ish ones in Silent Assassin.

I would like to feel as if I'm controlling a human and not a robot.

I've only played Blood Money, but I have over a hundred hours clocked into it. There are a few things I hope they improve in a sequel:

Better AI. This doesn't just mean combat AI, since if you are playing it well there should be very little combat. I'm talking more about more realistic reactions from people.

An example is the Mardi Gras level on Blood Money You walk into the kitchen of a nightclub. This simple act of trespass is considered worthy of death by the security guards. Why? Reactions should be scaled; trespassing once or twice triggers a warning from the guards, keep doing it and they try to arrest you. Pull a weapon, then lethal force can be used.

Another example from the same level. If you try and go into a building occupied by your target and his bodyguards (rival assassins AKA criminals) and the guards start shooting you, you run outside only for the police to help the guards. The police have no idea whats going on, yet they automatically side with the gun toting chicken people (yes, they're dressed as chickens.)

More varied melee. Yes, you can go up to someone and knee them in the face, but Agent 47 is a trained killer. He must surely have some sort of martial arts training? Splinter Cell Conviction uses some very exciting, brutal melee attacks based on Krav Maga, a martial art devloped by the IDF (one of the few things I liked about Conviction was the melee). Now, the melee system shouldn't be so overpowered that it's a crutch, but being able to walk up to a guard and silently neutralise him, without the ridiculous knee-to-the-face-then-punch-twice. Its stupid to watch and lets the guard cry out in pain. Not very professional.

The third thing I'd like to see would be more varied weapons, and better use for weapons. Blood Money allows you too upgrade a selection of weapons, and keep firearms that you pick up during missions. However, you cannot customise any weapons other than the default. You also cannot keep melee weapons, such as knives, hammers and fire extinguishers. One of the things that gave Blood Money replay value was trying to complete the mission only using a kitchen knife, or the hammer. Unfortunately, you had to choose missions that had these weapons, then find them.

These are just a few things that I found wrong, or at least immersion-breaking. Theres alot more, such as the speed with which you change clothes, or the fact that the clothes are always pristine despite the fact the previous wearer was blown backwards with a shotgun. Those are just a few irritants, whereas those three could extend playtime enormously I think.

Then, all respect due, why are you even here commenting? There is 0% point in your post. At least say something useful/thought-provoking

On topic: I didn't even know they had announced a new game! Epic...
It's been so long since I played the Himan series I can't really remember any of the negative aspects of the games (they were good enough that only the positives lasted through time. Surely that itself is recipe for a great series)

I guess just more up-to-date AI, fluidity, graphics etc.. Keep the level designs big (in the sense of loads and loads of different paths, not actual size). One of my favourite levels in Blood Money was the one in the theatre.. such a 'small' level by current standards, but the amount of so many different ways you can play through it was mind-blowing. I replayed that level AT LEAST 30 times on all difficulties, and not once did I revert back to an already-used tactic.

A nice choice of assassinations. A bit more environmentally-looking take-outs. (this was always my favourite way of killing). Make sniping a bit sexier. Dunno how to put it, other that 'update to modern technology' what they already did on previous games. They were so good there's not a large amount that actually needs to be fixed. Just updated :)
