aaaah lol.

I'm ok with the amount of games set in America. I enjoy killing all the stupid NPCs.
and tbph, if this happened in real life I'd side with Korea, because they aren't American. I don't like Korea, but yeah, certainly better than America.
Could you explain outside of the common American stereotype what you know about America?

Our highway system is set up so all of our interstate highways in America have 2 miles of flat level surface every several miles. This is so we can use our road system to double for runways that our aircraft can use
Urban legend [http://www.snopes.com/autos/law/airstrip.asp], I'm afraid. Parts of German Autobahns were used for it during WWII though.

OT: Meh, it's not like they'd do it anywhere else anyway.

Edit: Ninja'd due to my slowness, but still.

Quoted because holy shit someone's saying north korea is better than america and we cannot allow this to go unseen.

just wow.
You do realize that if this happened in real life that North Korea wouldnt have a chance right?
The game has an interesting idea on how theyd do it though, they retake south Korea and become a unified Korea and start to take over small countries then spread out to larger ones until they have sufficient power to take on the superpowers

You do realise that in "the arabic country they keep bashing" by "they" I meant the videogame industry, not america. All damn games nowadays have to be in that unnamed country, like MoH or CoD for examples. It'd be nice with a country with a name for once, again, might have more impact. It's not like it's for real, don't take it so seriously. I would love to see my own country destroyed as well in a video game or movie, once again, it's f*ing interesting!!

Steriotypically in an RPG this is how some of the people of the world break down

Please choose your characters race:

British - +2 Diplomacy, trained in Ride (Horse)
Irish - Resistance (Alcohol), Craft (bombs), +2 to stealth, Lucky - +1 to all saving throws
French - +2 charisma, Restistance (Cigarette Smoke), +2 to Profession (Chief)
American - -2 Intelligence, -2 charisma, Gun-nut: +4 to hit +2 damage with firearms
Austrailian - Resistance (Alcohol), +4 to hit +2 damage with Knives, +2 stealth, Craft (barbeque), +2 to thievery.

Given that US can afford to spend more on a white elephant like the B-2 than North Korea can drop on it's entire army, I find the premise laughable. That said, I don't object to American studios making American-orientated games to sell to Americans; I just object to the media's absurd belief that I might care enough to hold an opinion on or buy these games when they are pretty obviously America-centric.

A question to any Americanos: Does a game involving a foreign power invading your country provoke any sort of emotional reaction from you?
nope, not really at least, ill probably try the game out of shear curiosity on what they are invading for and how they are doing it, and if i like it, then awesome, if not, then oh well.

You forgot Australians' +2 to combat with wild animals, and the French -4 to Attack and +4 to evasiveness.

You are kidding, right? Because someone who says that the U.S. is a worse place than North Korea, a country consistently ranked dead last for its respect for human rights, has to be one of the dumbest people I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. To honestly state that you'd like to see a first-world nation that is wholly dedicated to civil, democratic rule (we may not always live up to that intention, but that's a different discussion) be invaded and destroyed by a nation that is modeled after Stalinist policies...

I really hope you are kidding, because even though it isn't a funny joke, the alternative nauseates me.

Say that about any other country and you're banned from the site. But he's talking shit about America so it's ok on the Escapist it seems.

Honestly, I think that Americans [sub]generally[/sub] behave just fine while in America. However, most of the Americans I have met that are outside of the United States are... the term "Jackwagons" comes to mind.
Though I'm generalizing, of course.

Heck, I live in America and I don't know much about it. All I know is that we are at war and will be leaving soon from Afghanistan and that our news consist of murder, rape, sex, drugs, and violence with the occasional, "Oh look, someone saved a kitty from a tree", type of story.

Edit: Oh, and a lot of American hate. We may be a pretty sad country compared to most but we aren't as bad as the rest of the world sees us. I mean, I generally dislike Britain sometimes with their cultures and such but I'm not going to go out of my way to bash the country. There are a lot of worse places in the world and American (on a scale from 1-10) at least deserves a 7 or 8.

To be honest I think it would be more interesting to see a country like Australia invaded. We're tiny and we don't need excuses as to why our defence for couldn't fend off a third-world nation.
Cause it wouldn't have to, the geography does that anyway?
Let's see. Who lives North of Australia?
North Korea, who just want that uranium for a new nuclear power station. Honest.
China, who are such happy, un-militarized, people.
Japan, who got so close to success last time.
Russia, Infinity Ward doesn't need a reason so why do I?

Doesn't anyone else want multiplayer maps based on the Big Bannana, thick Aussie bushland or a flooded Brisbane CBD?

You forgot Santa, he's north of Australia as well.

None of those nations are serious contenders for attacking a nation so far away as Australia, especially with less developed nations on their doorstep.

America would work, of course, but nobody would to game to have them portrayed as invading anywhere, cause we all know they only liberate places.

As for China being happy and un-militarised...that is one nation that has been involved in far less wars than Australia.

Yeah, but lets have it be zombies drop bears, sea monster, aliens or bogans. Few other things make much sense.

But it is a fact that around 45% of americans can't point out Britain on a map because they don't seem to think a country as small as Britain onced ruled 75% of the earth

hey, i'm from Scotland, if you were to ask most Americans, then they'd probably think that the Glaswegian army all wore kilts and glassed people to death -.-
