Well, the hackers obviously put towels on their feet, hopped the mouse trap and then snuck in during Ludacris' part of the song.

Oh right.... The hackers shouldnt run for the hills quite yet because the FBI havent even decided its an actual crime yet.

You know, I've been thinking about this a lot today. Nobody actually knows what security measures Sony had in place. Nobody knows if Sony is blameless or 100% at fault. There are lots of government organizations trying to find that out though.

So you know what? The rest of you can have fun with your "IT'S ALL SONY'S FAULT!" (which is silly) and "IT'S NOT SONY'S FAULT AT ALL!" (which is equally silly) arguments. From now on, I'm just going to sit back and wait for the people who are actually looking into this and actually do know and/or are learning about Sony's security to finish their investigating and let us know if we should be mad at them or not and if so, how mad.

And while I wait, I'm going to go finish BttF Episode 4 which game out today on PC. Have fun with your little slap-fights!

I hope they catch them so people on PSN feel a tad safer, including my friends.

Whoever did it is going to be in the shit.

LoL, what would really be funny is if it was one of those institutions, or another agency of federal spooks, who hacked the PSN but botched it by leaving evidence of a security breach.

"Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" :p

You guys are like, sooo stupid.

OT: Well can they hurry up? I really can't be arsed to call my bank, and I just got done memorising every single digit related to my debit card, just so that I don't have to search for my wallet every time I buy something online.
... those tiles have been the bane of my existence for too long!

in all seriousness i hope that they catch the bastards quickly. i'm sick of seeing hackers as "untouchable"

After this and the last playstation news thread, I want to add knives to your avatars hands. In jest of course. Maybe when they find the hackers, put a picture of their head in there too...
OT: FBI knows that Sony is worldwide, right? Or was the US server the main attack target?
Oh well, good for Sony to be accepting more help. This is getting ugly real fast, and I hope it ends soon.

I actually kind of wished we'd be seeing internet vigilante justice rather than official style.

After all, I'd rather see these particular people be on the receiving end of revenge fueled by rage rather than a paycheck (and because of the delicious irony of their punishment).
Maybe we could get both.

First the vigilantes strike then the Feds pick up the pieces and send those pieces to jail.
/Puts on Kick Ass Costume.

I'm ready =)
Bless your brave soul sir :D
Someone call Anonymous, maybe they could be annoyed at this (yes, I know they're pissed off at sony). We could use an Oracle.
Internet Vigilantes...
ASSEMBLE!

Is it a bad thing when I can tell your post is meant as sarcasm, and can see the obviousness of the sarcasm, but I still have some strange feeling that you're being serious?

I have a feeling that the hackers are not even in The USA and I highly doubt that they will be caught.

I agree.
And I must ask, is that a helmet from PixelJunk Racers as an avatar?

Never joke about slippery tiles.
Only you can prevent accidental bruises from falling.
They also form my core defense from a zombie invasion. And angry cats.

Oh, and those hackers, when found are going to be very far from untouchable. Instead of saws hidden in the cake, there will be only death. And slippery tiles.

What the fuck is that!?
I lol'd at that.

OT: I'm glad that the government is finally getting involved. Stealing information is (obviously) a federal offense, and it's good to see that some serious ramifications might be ahead for the hackers.

[link]http://qriocity.com/us/en/[/link] <- that's the site and should explain everything. But it's basically a pay service that streams tons of music to you on demand. They have a free version, but supposedly it's not as epic as the pay version. Regardless, it goes through your PS3. It just launched not too long ago so I don't really think anyone has tried it before PSN went down haha.

OT: When exactly did DHS get the ability to do anything about anything? Pretty sure the FBI will be the ones front-running this...

Homeland security and the FBI....wow we should all feel safe now, the FBI I understand but HS are useless, absolutely useless. Well, unless they are going to make he hackers take off their shoes, and have full body scans then they will be useless
