FBI is primarily a domestic law enforcement agency. Tho i think these days they have a hefty cyber crimes department, i can sort of understand why they have a place in this case. the HSD however once again has no business wasting time with this stuff.

THis administration has used the homeland security dept as a corporate lapdog HSD is supposed to be chasing down people that want to murder our citizens and cripple our national interests. WOrking as a arm of the MPAA and seizing some file sharing sites is not in their fing job description, nor is acting as an arm of SOEA.

Only thing stories like this tell me is that the HSD needs to be disbanded if they cannot do the job they are supposed to be doing and if the government is going to use them like this then it is time to cut the agency out entirely so this misuse of power stops.

And yes i am a psn user yes i have had all my info stolen and still this stuff just makes me as angry as sony get hacked and handing all my info over to hackers.

Hey, protip, Many other things have been hacked without these guys caring. Why should they start now? It's also a commonly known fact that Hackers are like weeds - You can get rid of them only for two more to come back. Or something like that.

The FBI got involved because a felony was committed. Namely, the stealing of personal information.

Also, like weeds, we should never stop trying to stamp hackers out.

OT- If Annon was not involved where are they? I would think they would try to ride in as the knight in shining armor to return this information. You know.... If they truly are on the CONSUMER'S side and all. Personally, I have more faith in the Federal government finding the hackers.

Yea, how about not. How about Homeland Security maintains a very limited role in American society. They're a bloated organization hell-spawned from the Bush-nightmare era that has no real goals or purpose in the real world.

It's like the Cold War "leftovers" effect on steroids, where so much money was pumped into defense and military funding, that when the Cold War ended, they had nothing better to do than turn it inward on it's own people and bleed everyone out for a miserable several decades (and still going really).

We don't need this. Homeland Security can piss off, and go stroke themselves in front of federal buildings, arresting people for taking pictures, as is their normal duties.

These kind of stories really piss me off. Especially when they start encroaching into the "intellectual property" sector. Really g-d damn dangerous precedent being set for an organization like HS to be sticking their bloated nose in.

Despite your randomly capitalized words I failed to see your point. I work for the government and I will enlighten you as to how all government run organizations work. The people with little to no power know way more than they should and probably know and will only work for the government for 2 years max before they leave for something better. The people who have power aka have been there more than 2 years only stayed because they are incompetent.

So, when these incompetent morons look into Anonymous they will see they are harmless and make a stink whenever you bloody mention them.

I'm confused with your logic now... I worked for the government for two years before I left and, as you said, I was more competent than my superiors..... But I hate Annon as well....

I'm reminded of a joke.

The US President takes the CIA, the FBI, and the Police to the woods. He releases three rabbits in three different sections, and tells them to find their respective rabbit.

The CIA takes its time, collecting evidence, interviewing foxes, stuff like that. At the end of the day they come back to the President and say 'The rabbit doesn't exist'.

The FBI firebomb their part of the forest, and after spending the day sifting through the remains they bring the rabbits partial, charred corpse to the President.

The Police go in, and come out a couple of hours later with a bear, that has a black eye and is yelling 'Okay! Okay! I'm a rabbit! I'm a rabbit!'

... what I'm saying is, I hope they get caught. Not because I like Sony, but because I have friends with PS3s and I would not like anyone to have their personal data.

Switch FBI with CIA and that joke would make a lot more sense.

Alleged? Where the hell have they been, Sony has all but posted pictures of how the hackers managed to smear digital feces on the firmware of the servers.

Everyone knows its all Sony's fault! Did you know, for example, that their servers are protected by nothing more than a mouse trap, some lubed-up floor tiles, and a copy of Justin Bieber's 'Baby' on repeat?!
