Now I feel sad. A real time MMO could have been good, but....now it's just WoW but with a different skin
Entirely unaffected? Oh no. What this means is that we're going to have to wait even longer for another ES masterpiece to come along while they're churning out this turd.lacktheknack said:And why cancel it? You aren't going to play, so you're entirely unaffected one way or another.
Bethesda isnt making the game and have no hand in it besides lore.Grunt_Man11 said:Just visited the Bethesda forums and the feedback is vastly negative.
I completely understand why. Bethesda is making the massive mistake many others before them have made. They're trying to be World of Warcraft.
They need to take a cue from Tera Online, Guild Wars 2, and Planetside 2. From all I've seen and heard from these three MMOs are that they stating that they are NOT WoW.
They figured why try to climb the hotkey MMO mountain that WoW has dominated for 7 years, when there are all these other MMO mountains to climb that are just as high?
Let's hope Bethesda and Zenimax see the error of this decision and opt for a 2-4 player, invite only, Co-Op mode DLC for Skyrim instead.
How is Bethesda going to be affected by what Zenimax online does............Arnoxthe1 said:Entirely unaffected? Oh no. What this means is that we're going to have to wait even longer for another ES masterpiece to come along while they're churning out this turd.
The Game Informer leaks show a surprising list of features found in TES Online that are also found in GW2.KefkaCultist said:You guys are a bunch of pessimists... C'mon, there is a reason WoW is the most popular MMO: They've done it right (mostly. I think GW2 is better). Since WoW's model seems solid, it makes sense that a company who also wants to be successful will emulate it. I'm not saying that they should make it EXACTLY like WoW, but why fix what isn't broken? Plus, we are seeing early development stuff so you can't just assume that they're gonna do a carbon-copy of WoW. This is Zenimax we're talking about, not Zynga.
Seriously, give some more time and thought before swearing it off forever. Myself? I'm gonna be logical and not have a cemented opinion before I see some actual reviews/gameplay.
Because they go through this every time and people tell them every time that they're sick of it.KefkaCultist said:You guys are a bunch of pessimists... The problem with emulating WoW is that it causes stagnation, people aren't going to leave WoW to play WoW reskinned, they want something a little bit different; it's why GW2 has so much hype behind it.KefkaCultist said:You guys are a bunch of pessimists... Agreed, let's not make any sudden judgments off of an incredibly biased article.KefkaCultist said:Seriously, give some more time and thought before swearing it off forever. Myself? I'm gonna be logical and not have a cemented opinion before I see some actual reviews/gameplay.
The same way EA's failures affected Bullfrog and the other developers it did away with.SajuukKhar said:Bethesda isnt making the game and have no hand in it besides lore.Grunt_Man11 said:Just visited the Bethesda forums and the feedback is vastly negative.

also if you look at the gameplay list from the gameinformer leaks you would see TES Onlin takes many of guild wars 2's features.

Surprisingly, "good business sense" doesn't live up to the adjective "good" a lot.Surprisingly, 'good business sense' isn't quite as impressive as creativity.
Unless they handle leveling/loot progression like Dragon Ball Z handles villains.Rai^3 said:Elder Scrolls has always been about ultimately becoming a god that walks like a man. An MMO wouldn't be able to incorporate that to begin with. Still, the idea of a real-time first-person MMO was pleasing.
Color me uninterested.
True, but they could implement a way to still give a sense of everyone doing their own thing. As in there could be a starter zone in each respective region where the races originate (assuming that Dark Elfs are from Morrowind, Nords are from Skyrim, etc), and then the rest of the zone could be split into sub-zones (to a certain extent, you'd still want people traveling around). For instance, Skyrim could have a starter zone for Nords (Whiterun and its surrounding areas, perhaps), then the other races in the faction that contains the Nords can have sub-zones in Skyrim that level from like 10-15 and another that goes from 35-40. This is all just a rough example, obviously, and I'm not even sure I like it that much. Were the Nords allied with the Breton, then the Nords could travel to High Rock to level from 15-20, and elsewhere (Elsweyr perhaps? haha, sorry) to get to 35 to go back to Skyrim for leveling. Again, that example would be assuming the Nords and Breton are allied.Nasrin said:In reference to the point about there being level limits on certain areas of the game...
Isn't this a necessity of MMOs? The game can't scale to one individual, as it does in Skyrim.
They implied that it's been under wraps for YEARS. They're almost done. The damage has happened.Arnoxthe1 said:Entirely unaffected? Oh no.
