Yes, because Jo Frost is totally an expert and her opinion is worth a fractional shit. Thank you for giving us her opinion, Express. Where would we be without such a dedicated media outlet to dispense this profound information?

Also, outside of mobile games, can anyone tell me what videogame still awards "points" in order to increase one's "score" anymore? Remember, children, xp doesn't count.

Product of a society gone too soft, this woman. The simple fact she they thinks violence in any video game is "realistic" is a testament to how sheltered she is.

Also... "Horric"? I think you missed an "iff" in the title.

I'm British, but I don't know who this person is, and the google search left me more entertained than informed. This person really exists?

yes video games caused the uk riots. not the unemployment or the fact that kids cant afford to go to college now, or the fact that a young guy was allegedly murdered by a cop, but video games are entirely to blame for people getting angry

(it should be noted that i live in amerka and as such, most of what i know about the riots is based entirely on The Young Turks)

Research shows that within 15 minutes of playing one of these games young men become highly aggressive and lack empathy in normal situations. It is not too fanciful to suggest it?s a short step from being immersed in this war-like world to taking that nightmare mindset on to the streets with all the consequences of anarchy and violence we saw rip apart cities.
It's unbelievable how much sh*t this woman is spewing. Here's a little context here; I've been playing video games since I was 10, one of my favorite games of the year so far is Bulletstorm, one of my favorite games ever is COD4. I have never fought anyone. Ever. The closest I've come to fighting someone was pushing some pr*ck into a bush then walking off. Explain that you fat b*tch.

Didn't they also prove that after disengaging from the game, that the levels of desensitization returned back to normal after x number of minutes? Or am I thinking of something else?

These people know nothing about games, I spend years strangling people with barbed wire on manhunt (Or circumcising them if you keep the button held long enough)
Uh...I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Perhaps decapitation? asphyxiation?
Well, it could be circumcising if he was strangling a different head.

She's right you know - I often go and commit acts of mass murder after playing Gears of War for an extended period of time...

OT: Just when I thought people were willing to get off this bandwagon, another person jumps on. Just give it another generation folks, not long to wait now...

Violence is the fault of videogames, which was preceded by comic books, which itself was preceded by rock n' roll, which itself came from jazz, which itself was Satan's doing, who was created by God.

So God is pretty much the reason for all of this. Let's blame God and call it a day.

Blimey, where did that brick wall come from?

Oh right, something bad happened, and we need a scapegoat.

Ah, just as I was starting to hope the media had grown up...
don't worry, her tv show got dropped so she needs to do something to stay in the limelight!

Oh Jo, fuck off. I see you're still as arrogant, haughty and pretentious as ever. I've seen Super Nanny a couple times and I'd like to see her tackle some real family issues, not just some defiant little shits raised by idiots.

Ugh this is such an attention grab she mentions games for like 2 paragraphs a goes off in to a tangent how kids these days should be raised and how the media is corrupting them while promoting her methods and her "six-point plan". Stick to the point and have a strong argument backed up with evidence and examples. Don't use cheap tricks and scapegoats as a way of promoting yourself it just looks stupid and tacky.

Oh, it's Jo Frost, the "Supernanny"... that woman is a fucking control freak. She wants to control kids, control their parents, then have the parents control their kids as she'd want them to... And talking about parents, the London riots are the parents' fault, and she SHOULD know that, considering she's sent to fix poor parenting by introducing authoritarian, no-liberty parenting.
She wants to limit everyone's liberty and independence. If it were up to her, the UK would be a fascist totalitarian state a la 1984...

Hang on, according to all these conservative "studies" into what is wrong with todays youths, i should be extremely violent, i play video games way too much (most of them violent) i come from a divorced family and my father is dead (according to conservatives this leads to violent behaviour in young men) and i come from a working class background

so why wasnt i in the riots? why havnt i ever i been violent (for the most part) and dont get into trouble with the police?

I've got an idea people. Instead of sitting on forums crying about this why don't we just ignore it? Every few weeks some obscure famous person comes out and blames video games on violence (Hitler must of loved his video games)and by now i'm surprised we haven't started completely ignoring them.
