I am surprisingly good at waking up. I think I've overslept about 5 times in my whole life. If there's alarm I get up immediately, turn it off and rush to bathroom to kill any wish to snooze.

I'm pretty good at getting up in the morning. Once I'm awake thats it, I dont go back to sleep or anything. One alarm on my phone and a cup of tea and I'm off.

Having to start work at 6-7am is pretty depressing especially in winter when it's still pitch black outside and really cold inside and my bed is so damn warm.

One tip I do have is I move my phone across my room out of reach so I have to 'get-up' to turn it off and by then I'm out of bed and upright.

I start work at 4:30 in the morning. I do pretty well to be honest. I have only ever been late three times in around three and a half years of working there. Two of those were car failures, one of them was me forgetting to set my alarm. I also frequently wake up five minutes before my alarm goes off.

The downside is that I start feeling tired around 8pm in the evening, and I wake up at the same time as normal, even on my days off. It sucks to be honest, because my natural sleep pattern before working where I do was somewhat nocturnal. I very rarely used to go to bed before 1am.

Get up at 4:30, roughly, I need some time in the morning before I leave to work, usually around 5:45. (brushing teeth and all that, sure, but mostly I just need a moment to sit...I value such time) Never had much problem with it, once you get used to it, you usually wake up like a minute ahead of the alarm anyway...

Normally I'm terrible but whenever I've got something to do like an interview or presentation I'll wake up around an hour before my alarm goes off. It's like my mind knows that I have to be up so it just....does it.

I've always had a lot of trouble getting up in the morning. My natural day cycle is about 4 hours too long, so if I go to bed at about 11, I will be fast asleep until 11 the next day if nobody wakes me up. Getting up earlier than that is difficult for me, but I force myself to do it mainly because I have classes.

I wake up every morning at about the same time without an alarm. If I have to get up too much earlier than that with an alarm I'll need the alarm to wake up maybe once or twice but then I'll get up without it every time. Something about loud noises waking me up just really pisses me off for some reason and after a couple of times of it I'll get up before so I don't have to hear it. I really hate the alarm clock sound, even when I'm fully awake it makes me want to punch things.

Terrible. Alarm clock is across the room so that I have to get up to shut it off. Then my mind doesn't wake up until like an hour later. I used to try setting my clock ahead ten or fifteen minutes but that stopped working when I found I could still do basic math right after waking up.

On topic though, getting up isn't an issue for me. I do shift work, two weeks on days, then two weeks on nights. 4am-pm, and 4pm-am respectively. I have one alarm, positioned across the room, and I usually set it for thirty minutes earlier than when I need to get up. Instead of hitting the snooze though, I manually adjust the time; engaging in any sort of cognitive activity sort of helps me to wake up. I usually take that extra thirty minutes to just lay in bed and stretch. How much time are you actually sleeping? That may contribute to your problems waking up.

I have a three year old so an alarm clock is unnecessary, she's up and out of bed around six every day. Sometimes we try to get her in our bed to snuggle but she won't fall back asleep and keeps talking about how hungry she is.

Just this morning my "alarm clock" rubbed my face and yelled, "Daddy! I peed in the potty! Come see!" And that's why I was up at 6:00AM on my day off clapping like a buffoon by the toilet. My actual alarm clock went off when I was dressed, fed and finishing mowing the lawn.

Weird thing is it doesn't bother me, I've somehow evolved into one of those god awful, super cheery morning people I used to despise. Down side is I keep falling asleep around 9:00PM now, tried to have a date night on the town with my wife and we made it to 10:00PM before our eyes were drooping at the bar.

I feel so old...

I work part time the afternoon at around 3:30 PM so I usually go to bed around 6:00 AM. I have an alarm clock that I use that helps get me up. Most of the time I don't need it though since I tend to always wake up about 1-5 minutes before it is set to go off. It really annoys me.

With a pull of cheap whiskey and a really loud alarm on the other side of the room, I'm ready for the day. Get up late on the weekends though, like 11-12 depending on if I went out the night before, then I tend to get up earlier for some reason. Crazy I know.

Thankfully I work from home so I only have to wake up, get pants on and migrate to the office. I don't think I could take a traditional job after this, the mornings alone would kill me.

Evidence seems to suggest that I am one of those weirdos that has a shifting sleep cycle. If I run solely by my internal clock, I go to sleep about 30 minutes to an hour later every night. This makes getting up at a specific time . . . . interesting.

That aside, for the first two hours after I wake up, I do a very good Romero zombie impression. Mornings are not my friend.

It's my best skill. On weekdays I get up between 5:30 and 6 and in weekends I tend to sleep to 6:30 or 7, 9 if I am really tired. It's a habit I got into in January after sleeping to 3PM during Christmas and I am usually able to keep this up as long as I am in school. I get insomnia when I don't have anything to and thus my holidays usually lead to some bad hours.
