You're now edi in this game and ave to do all the calculations. Also manually moniter the life support system constantly and if you don't have the system on it still simulates.
Shepard is killed at the beggining and wakes up in a hospital being nursed by asari.Then, he sees a spinning top that keeps spinning. Because he didnt watch Inception for a school asignment 20 years ago he doesn't know what it means. Shepard then goes to the bathroom, looks in the mirror and he's a reaper. Out of shock he collapses and wakes up in space.
Overlooking a random planet, he is greeted by some reapers telling him he didnt pass the test of manhood and is sent to be the next vanguard.

After 50hrs of Shepard and the normandy cruising round the universe trying to find a way to kill all the reapers, they get a mesage from admiral Hackett.
The message goes something like this:
'So, it turns out that a secret cerberus base had a reaper shuttle. They flew some geek into a reaper ship and uploaded a virus (seems the reapers run on windows 95, who new?) the virus was disseminated throughout the other reaper ships via their internal comms network (turns out they also don't have firewalls or antivirus's). We've been popping reapers all morning, you guys can come back to Earth for the trial whenever now (by the way since we don't need you to save the universe anymore we're finding you guilty, politics you understand).'
The message goes something like this:

Changing the voices/voice actors for Tali and Legion. Listening to them speak was the only reason I bought ME2.
I guess it would be sufficient to just continue 'streamlining' the game, getting rid of some more options/characterizations and just make it into an interactive movie - oh, and don't forget a bunch of achievements to make the big mass feel good.

You liked ammo, try Arrows! We have 'upgraded' every gun in the galaxy to be a longbow - so much more practical! (You have to craft the arrows by planet scanning) But wait, there's more! We're actually implementing a freaking sword - the perfect tool for killing city sized robots floating in space.

Make it so that you have to drive around in the Mako, fighting wave after wave endlessly, just to mine resources. And each planet is the size of the Citadel. And it's required, otherwise everyone dies.
Edit: Another thought: Make the game nothing but the Thorian section from ME1, replace all the Creepers with Asari Clones, take away both squad members, and you're only given a sniper rifle. Even if you're not trained for it.

Remake Dragon Age 2 and copy paste Mass Effect characters over it. Also actually show Tali's face. I prefer the mystery.
Have the player play all the way to the end, only right before the final boss Shepard wakes up before the events of the first game, with it all being a dream. Then Tricky pops out of Shepard's chest like them Chestbursters and does his signature dance right in Shepard's face.
