A better controller is my only complaint. Really it's just the marshmallow like shoulder buttons and the insensitive thumbsticks. I'd very happily use a 360 controller to play my PS3.

The triggers just need to be used enough, and it begins to feel incredibly natural. Do you own a PS3, and if so, how long have you owned one?

As for the triggers: I think it's more to do with their placement rather than with their sensitivity.
Don't get me wrong, I love me some Dualshock, but they can be a hassle when jumping between the two consoles.

Well, Live had an install base already, and an overall more functional system in terms of unification. To overcome that, the PS3 needs to invent time travel. The OP's use of "terra cotta" and "brown" in describing modern games succeeded only in making me think how interesting a PS3 would look in either of those colors. Seriously people, some variety; I don't want a system that thinks it's KITT.

I'd also say "Make sixaxis controls that work properly" and "change the controller shape", but Sony's true zealots would disagree with me. Whatever, I'm not comfortable playing an FPS or RPG hybrid on PS-based controls.

Maybe update the controller for this century. I know lots of people like it, but that's probably the last reason I have not to buy a PS3 Slim. Dual Shock 3 is terrible for FPS games.

As a fanboy with an admitted problem, I'd say an FFVII remake would do the trick.
It's not going to happen. I hope you enjoy the Final Fantasy 6 remake, Final Fantasy 8 remake, Final Fantasy 7: Dirge of Cerberus remake, and Crisis Core PS3 port coming in the near future!

In case if your a little slow, I was joking.
I'm somewhat ashamed to admit that if that were announced, I'd buy a PS3 tomorrow...

Well okay that makes sense, I do have a PS3, but only for about a week and a half haha. So I'm guessing that's it. I still don't like the analog sticks though, they just don't jive with me when I'm so used to the 360's layout. I do really like the Dpad and the face button shape on the Dualshock though.

Indeed :D
That's primarily the reason why I like to get fighting games for my PS3.

As for the analog sticks: They should begin to feel incredibly natural in no time at all.

To each his own. It's just a difference of opinion, as I'm guessing you play primarily PS3, while I have always been a 360 gamer until the recent PS3 price drop. I do like the face buttons and the D-pad, but I'm just at a loss with the analog sticks.

Considering the fact that both the PS3 and the 360 are pretty much watered down PCs I say scrap the 360 and let Microsoft stick to their PCs for gaming and Sony can scrap the PS3 and start creating their own line of gaming PCs. I mean people say they are as close to PCs as any consoles can get.

Yeah I guess, I'm just having trouble adjusting to the lessened sensitivity when sniping or trying to be very accurate with weapons. Like you said though, I'll adjust in no time at all. Oh and as I'm brand new to the Playstation, could you give me a quick list of your favorite games? I'm looking for some ideas, as I currently only have MGS4 and Uncharted.

I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with the PS3 it was just too expensive on launch and lacked good exclusives to put it ahead of the 360

Oh and like I asked Hazy, can you give me a quick list of your PS3 favorites? I only have Uncharted and MGS4 and need some ideas as to what my next purchase should be. It's sort of a tie between LBP and Killzone 2.
