it won't win me back. i suppose if they re-made Blue/Red but in 3D (not in 3D glasses 3D, as in a 3rd person view) with current gen graphics and when you enter a battle it's like Pokemon Staduim was it would be great.
this is the idea that made pokemon stale.
this era of Pokemon is the only one i care about
and why is that?
because they took it too far making more and more Pokemon. the second generation was OK but after that it became rediculous. there's, what, 500-odd pokemon, not including the ones from White/Black, ENOUGH ALREADY!

Just if they said thier names properly instead of chip sounds.

It made sense on Gameboy, but now it's just stupid.

why? why is that a bad thing?
it's just my opinion that making over 500 Pokemon is too much. it may not be a bad thing, the franchise is still doing well. i don't think we need any more Pokemon. doing other things with the ones there are, fine, making more and more and more, not fine.

Oh, i got a vision for the game, and its unlikely it will ever happen..

-By implementing basic causality, for everything.

- by removing that superflous layer of "kid-friendly" the games have.

-By giving a brain to -everyone- (cliche idiots as the norm is boring and uninteresting)

-by being able to refuse when another trainer want to battle us. Same with our rival. I want to be able to say NO.

-An ecology that makes reasonable sense (food-chain for PKs, that varies depending on the location and environment, plus some plant/berries grow in specific locations, while others are found everywhere)

-P-Ks powers and abilities that make sense (if a PK can do something, it must serve some purpose in their day-to-day live in the wild, no dragonites going at 300'000 km/h or stupid stuff like that)

-By making sense for the human economy and infrastructure (trade, mining, industry, logistics, transport.. considering that the wilderness is FULL of wild, powerfull beasts.. raw ressources must be hard to get i think.. and building permanent infrastructure must meet strong opposition from the wild PKs)

-A genre-savy (evil overlord list-savy) smart and memorable BBEG with solid plans, competent minions and with a goal thats realistic (like getting a high level post in the governement to gain access to state secrets). And he doesnt have 6 lvl 100 ultra-rare everything (his top general does, being the expert soldier) the bbeg have mid-level, fairly uncommon PKs for his own amusement and to play with his kids... its not his job to go on the frontline.

-Legendaries that deserve their "status" by being too strong/important to be allowed to be captured/annoyed by mere trainers (and BBEG wont bother trying to even getting close to one, its suicide). Reward offered (by science groups) for the confirmed spotting/location of legendaries.

-competent police officer, with the skill and hardware needed to deal with dangerous wilds PKs and common criminals. The military handles the really dangerous stuff. Both their problem is that their ressources are hard to replace, and are stretched thin everywhere.

-That we should be able to start in ANY city and start our journey from there, no city with the weakest PK being lvl 50, there is more than one adventurer in the universe. (the farther from civilisation, the higher the level, since humans keep strong wild PKs away from their cities)

- that PKs are more than just boring stat blocks with an arbitrary limit of 4 skills. Give'em some true personality, make them interact with us, after all, PKs are shown to be sentient, intelligent beings capable of human-like emotions, with their needs and interests.. some can even talk! Why isnt it shown/used in the games?

- that the game steps away from the turn-based combat system. Its boring.

.. and much, much, much, much more.

Good luck dude. I've never had anybody give me a solid answer for "What don't you like about the new Pokemon" that can't be summed up by me mockingly saying "Wah wah wah I didn't grow up with them so they suck, and I'll try to justify my feelings by spewing out some totally subjective stuff about how they don't feel 'natural' or something".

I'd like a game where when you got into battles, you could actually control the Pokemon from a thrid person p.o.v. A,B,X,Y would be the 4 attacks you could learn and you be able to dodge attacks and use the environment in battle. It would make things more exciting than the rather static battle system.

And more focus on the story. Ruby/Saphire I think had the best story so far. In Red/Blue and Gold/Silver you just stopped Rocket's various vague schemes and Diamond/Pearl is a copy of Ruby/Saphire so it doesn't count.

I wish they'd bring in more originality into the games i.e. a much more immersive experience and a storyline that you can't predict two minutes into the game. Also, a few people have mentioned having the choice to be a complete dick in the games, you know, a sort of Bioware RPG thingy where you can make choices. That'd be fucking awesome. Finally bring the game to the Wii, with its better technology surely they'd be able to squeeze more in...and I'd be able to touch the console (haven't played in like a year).

Alright, so that's my sort of dream thingy. Now thing within the boundary of realism? Ok. Making the legendaries deserve their status, being incredibly powerful to the extent where you wouldn't dare to fight them...I mean come on, you ARE fighting god-like beings. Instead possibly the option of befriending one...I don't know, say you take one of those shitty personality quizzes at the start, and from those results one legendary will sorta follow you around...that'd be pretty cool. Other than that possibly better battle animations? I mean seriously, with today's technology Nintendo should be able to do something much more impressive than what they're currently doing...

A Pikachu/pokemon-bazooka. I know they won't put one in at all, but I'd definitely buy the game if I could launch my pokemon at my opponents as high speed ballistics. XD

What I want is the original pseudo-joke black version. The one that promised the ability to join Team Rocket when you got to the end of the trainer bridge north of Cerulean.

Either that or an HD, third-person console game.

there is no 'real' reason i don't like them other than the fact that i think making all these pokemon is unnecessary and taking it too far. granted i haven't played any of the games past Gold but i don't plan to. i can't justify how i feel about it, i just do.

Don't you think that facing the same 151 monsters all the time would get stale that much quicker? It's not like they ever went away either.
I don't understand why people make an excuse that less monsters are better than more for making the game interesting.

Although, if GameFreak want me to love them even more, they could announce that they are officially disowning the second generation games as well as the remakes of them. Holy crap those are awful. I don't see why everyone loves them so much, Johto was a poorly laid out region with almost nothing to do, they tossed in Kanto which had even less to do, and most of the new Pokémon sucked for battling at the time because you had so many of them that would learn special attacks but have abysmal special attack in favor of high attack, or vice versa (thankfully, Diamond and Pearl came along and saved the GSC Pokémon from being eternal crapfests by changing how moves work). The only good thing GSC did was remove the Safari Zone, but sadly they put it back in the remake so now there's nothing positive to even say about HG and SS.
This is something along the lines of what I was explaining earlier, but I actually still like generation two.
I think one of the major reasons that people like them so much is because Kanto is in the game. You'll see a lot of people auto-reject anything that is after GSC because it has nothing to do with those two regions anymore. It's probably one of the reasons why they accept Johto as cool because it's so closely related to Kanto that it might as well be a sub-region.

In Johto, you had Weedle, Sentret, Caterpie, Hoot-Hoot, Pidgey, and Rattata as some of the first Pokemon you encounter.
In Hoenn, it was Seedot, Poochyena, Wurmple, Zigzagoon, Wingull, Ralts, and Lotad.
And in Sinnoh, there was Shinx, Starly, Bidoof, Kricketot, Zubat, and Budew.

Johto might as well be an expansion pack.

I'd love to have a better battle system...and 3D graphics, like Persona has.

Also, maybe a live-action game, like 'Wrath: Unleashed'.
