Oh, i got a vision for the game, and its unlikely it will ever happen..
-By implementing basic causality, for everything.
- by removing that superflous layer of "kid-friendly" the games have.
-By giving a brain to -everyone- (cliche idiots as the norm is boring and uninteresting)
-by being able to refuse when another trainer want to battle us. Same with our rival. I want to be able to say NO.
-An ecology that makes reasonable sense (food-chain for PKs, that varies depending on the location and environment, plus some plant/berries grow in specific locations, while others are found everywhere)
-P-Ks powers and abilities that make sense (if a PK can do something, it must serve some purpose in their day-to-day live in the wild, no dragonites going at 300'000 km/h or stupid stuff like that)
-By making sense for the human economy and infrastructure (trade, mining, industry, logistics, transport.. considering that the wilderness is FULL of wild, powerfull beasts.. raw ressources must be hard to get i think.. and building permanent infrastructure must meet strong opposition from the wild PKs)
-A genre-savy (evil overlord list-savy) smart and memorable BBEG with solid plans, competent minions and with a goal thats realistic (like getting a high level post in the governement to gain access to state secrets). And he doesnt have 6 lvl 100 ultra-rare everything (his top general does, being the expert soldier) the bbeg have mid-level, fairly uncommon PKs for his own amusement and to play with his kids... its not his job to go on the frontline.
-Legendaries that deserve their "status" by being too strong/important to be allowed to be captured/annoyed by mere trainers (and BBEG wont bother trying to even getting close to one, its suicide). Reward offered (by science groups) for the confirmed spotting/location of legendaries.
-competent police officer, with the skill and hardware needed to deal with dangerous wilds PKs and common criminals. The military handles the really dangerous stuff. Both their problem is that their ressources are hard to replace, and are stretched thin everywhere.
-That we should be able to start in ANY city and start our journey from there, no city with the weakest PK being lvl 50, there is more than one adventurer in the universe. (the farther from civilisation, the higher the level, since humans keep strong wild PKs away from their cities)
- that PKs are more than just boring stat blocks with an arbitrary limit of 4 skills. Give'em some true personality, make them interact with us, after all, PKs are shown to be sentient, intelligent beings capable of human-like emotions, with their needs and interests.. some can even talk! Why isnt it shown/used in the games?
- that the game steps away from the turn-based combat system. Its boring.
.. and much, much, much, much more.
