How did you first end up at the escapist?

My brother showed me ZP. Then he stole my wallet and bludgeoned me with a nerf gun (note: not the projectiles).

And that's why it was the best Christmas ever.

One of my friends showed me the zero punctuation videos and ever since then i go to the escapist weekly.
So whats your story?

My dad told me about ZP, watched the Bioshock one, loved it, began to follow them... then I started to lurk on the forums without an account, and then I just had to make an account one day cause I NEEDED to respond to a thread.

Oh, all that and then I started getting into moviebob and all that... extra credits is keeping me coming now.

I saw the previews of ZP on X-Play and some time later followed a link and watched it myself. Around a year ago there was a contest to win ODST or an HDTV and you had to register to enter so I did and I started clicking the thread titles on the side that looked interesting because why not.

An older friend of mine sent me the link to ZeroPunctuation one night on IM 'cause I mentioned I was bored and that I didn't have access to any of my consoles. He said as I gamer that I might appreciate the reviews.

I haven't looked back since, even if it did take me over a year to finally sign up to the site.

a friend on DeviantArt did a short comic strip (hellsing: alucard & anderson) inspired by the 'gay joke' in Zero Puctuation Devil May Cry 4 video and that got me hooked on ZP, then Unskipable and any other vid that catches my eye (like MovieBob and ExtraCredit and some Game Supplement Reviews) ^.^
(...thou it took me a year..or two, to actually sign up - even thou i snuck peeks at all the ZP & UnSkip videos ^^; )

It was so long ago, I don't remember.

I think I was banned from gamespot's forums and I was an internet forum refugee looking for a home.

goes to show that gamespot sucks, btw if you don't mind asking, why did you got banned?

admittedly, i'm a little misogynistic. I had made some posts which flew under the radar for quite some time, months actually.

There was this "gurl gamer" on there who was a massive attention whore and I called her on it. So she went through my posting history and reported like 3 posts in a row, which then got me banned.

After I figured out what happened, I laughed.

Wow that's something, Well at least the escapist forums are composed mostly of good and sensible people and don't do stupid things like that. Still it's a shame you got banned for something so insignificant like that.
