I'd rather have a director like Peter Jackson make a movie like that, and I also feel like it would have to be a lot like the LOTR trilogy. In my opinion that way people get a real feel for the world and the atmosphere. and also so they can incorporate every race because i would be very upset if they dident have necrons and other less appreciated factions in the movie.
I say we get Guillermo del Toro, would be a better if the story involved Chaos, that way we know we will not just get the Chaos Marine with him, but the whole contingent of chaos demons, and he would also be more likely to have a story that involve a Tzeentch or Slaanesh chapter, more then about any other choice. =p

WE DON'T !

We find someone who knows and enjoys the source material.
We find someone who has more than one brain cell as a director.

We find someone who can make a god damn movie that would actually be true to the source material.

---

Just in case you didn't get my message.

Warhammer 40k DOES NOT i repeat DOES NOT need a Michael Bay movie.
It has a deep lore which is basically part and parcel of the universe.

It wouldn't make a great action movie. Full Stop.

---

For redundancies sake I'll Say it again tonto.
WE DO NOT GET MICHAEL BAY TO DO A WARHAMMER 40K MOVIE. Period.

I have no real knowledge about warhammer 40K, but even I am able to understand what a bad idea that would be. Don't let Michael Bay near [del]game-to-[/del]movie[del] adaptation[/del]s.
Fix'd.

OT: I don't play W40K either, but I can tell that this is a bad idea. Transformers is about giant robots that cause explosions, perhaps the one thing Bay likes more than the military. Look how that turned out. There were explosions, yeah...

Of course, if he co-directed it with someone nerdy like, I dunno, Matthew Vaughn, then it would probably end up as one of the best geeky things ever.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
it would suck if bay made one, chances are he would pick some erotic fanfic between a ultra marine and a sister of battle as the story

Ok... This is how we do it.
First we draw a big circle on the ground with spikes threw it.
Then we take Michael Bay and 1 copy of all his movies.
We then take a gigantic hammer and shout: BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!
And sacrifice MB to Khorne.
Fans happy, moviegoers happy.

Edit: Picture Nathan Fillon as a rogue trader though...

NO, because I don't want to see Shia LaBeouf playing some Imperial Gurdsman who falls in love with some Guardwomen and then they have to traverse some battlefield so they can be in love.

Not to mention all the homophobia, penis jokes, gangsta culture and general stupidity it would contain.

For a proper Imperial Guard movie, I say we get Jean-Jacques Annaud, director and writter of "Enemy at the Gate", Bay would be way too American in his portrayal and try to put some value in the life of a guardsman instead of having an officer corps with proper "motivation" skill.

@sojoez i think khorne might actually reject that offering and send krannak so he can beat the idea out of you.

But yeah I agree with everyone here GW SHOULD NEVER EVER IN A MILLION+1 YEARS! let Micheal Bay near the 40K universe.

there are some other directors that could do ALOT better with the materials that exist in the 40K universe.

as for actors i dont know Vin Deisle only coz he plays D&D so he'd get the space marine idea, other than that i'm too tired to think of who we could have.

I only chose Khorne because I want a bloody death. Maybe Nurgle would be more suitable seeing how most of MB's movies make you feel sick!

Warhammer 40k in general would make a bad movie. Movies today all need a love interest for some stupid reason. Space Marines do not care about such petty things. They only want to kill and kill some more. If they try to make a Space Marine feel love there would be mass riots. Nerds may be scrawny but most are well armed.

The other races are pretty meh when it comes to movie stuff too. The Imperial Guard are likely the only other option and the only way to make a character that doesn't get shot in the first three minutes of combat is to make it a Commissar and he would be unliked by most the moment he shot someone for cowardice.

Trouble is, we'd see a young male protagonist trying to get with an attractive female protagonist with a mediocre plot that stretches way too long, and only then would we get the big-time battles and explosions.

No thanks.
And even then, the forces of chaos, Tyranids, Space Marines etc would all be largely ignored in the midst of their epic battle to focus on a small group of insignificant Imperial guards.

It would turn into a unit of Imperial Guard fighting against Necron or Tyranid. No Eldar, Tau, Space Marines or even Chaos.

I'm not the biggest fan of Michael Bay's work up til now, but I can actually see an endeavour like this working out pretty well.he may be a bit of a one trick pony, but that trick he does pretty well, sorta like somebody who learns how to play a song perfectly on the piano but can't read a note of sheet music.
I think the best bet would be to aim for something close to his comfort zone:the Imperial Guard.since there's already a Space Marine movie (haven't watched yet,but it's up the top of my list), and a wealth of information regarding the Guardsmen,if he has a script around the quality of Gav Thorpe or Dan Abnett's writings (how good would a Gaunt's Ghosts or Schaeffer's Last Chancers movie be,amirite?) I can see good things coming of it.
Bay might even gain a lil respect from me.

EDITED to include: just realized;as long as he doesn't try to put a love story in there, and gets some good actors.
