Why don't we get Uwe Bolle to help Bay make it? If we're going to make a rubbish movie we might as well make it REALLY bad.

What did Warhammer ever do to you? The Transformers films are made by a frat-boy, for retards.

I don't give a shit about Warhammer (its down below a line I will never cross, along with cosplay and D&D sessions), but I wouldn't wish that fate on a series.

Michael Bay would have to get the rights over my dead body, and many others.
I've seen how he can butcher an IP, I wouldn't wish him upon any franchise.

Well, I see where you're coming from, but the problem is that the most interesting stuff in 40k is the backstory, and the backstory is incredibly expansive, detailed, and epic. If a movie could capture the sheer sense of SCALE that exists in the warhammer universe, a world where the death of billions of people is seen as collateral damage, it would be awe-inspiring. Michael bay simply does not have the skill to do that.

Event Horizon is sometimes called a Warhammer 40,000 film because of it's concept of hell and such. People say that it's a portrayal of the Warp.

I haven't seen it but I guess I can trust my fellow battle-fanbrothers.

And on the topic of the recent Ultramarines film, it's a good book. And by that, it feels and flows like the typical Warhammer 40,000 story you'd read in a book. It's average but definitely not bad.
[sub]Does anyone know of the really old live-action films?[/sub]
No...just no. If I wanted to see another Warhammer 40,000 film, I'd demand PlasticWax to animate it and Peter Jackson to direct it.
The live action movie was a german fan movie called Damnatus

http://www.damnatus.com/seite.php?file=news

It was shut down by GW

If your meaning the clips on youtube of english speaking characters and really dodgy rubber orcs, that was for a game I cant think what it was called but it came out in the 90's.......I think it's that old.

If nether of those are the live action movie you ment, then I've got no idea.

*agrees with comments about Event Horizon*

Not to mention that Games Workshop would probably hire a team of Covert assassins to kill him after he proposed making a film. Or Squats! Yeah, they coul-

USER WAS REMOVED FOR MENTIONING GAMES WORKSHOP'S OLD SHAME

He's dreadful at making films, personally W40K movie should be pretty gritty. So i would pick someone like.... Stanley Kubrick or... Ridley Scott

Please dont let Micheal Bay near the Warhammer 40k universe, yes the movie would make money because he directing it, but the fans would (im going to use a 40k reference here) would kill him for Khorne because he cant follow something with a background for more than 5 seconds

How?

By telling him that he'd be allowed to make a movie about space marines fighting other, corrupted space marines, orks and space elves that doesn't need to have any morals or themes other than "Chaos is bad and FOR TEH EMPEROR!" and the plot would literally be about about dudes shooting other dudes while wielding weapons that level city blocks in a single massive explosion as a matter of course.

You'd be lucky if his head didn't explode on the spot.

Thiiisss, why would anyone want Michael Bay to do anything other than go away?

Whatever Michael Bay would make out of 40k could be better done by other directors.

The Irony is, if GW ever tried to make a 40K Movie based on one of the bigger Campaigns, take any Black Crusade, or one of the 3 Wars for Armageddon, Bay would be quite enough. There is no real deep Plot to deal with, its a massive fucking Battle, in the case of a Black Crusade, even across several bloody Segmentums (for the non-40k knowledgeable, a Segmentum is a part of the Universe, there are a total of 5. Still confused? Look it up).

What Character Development and Plan/Lore there is cant really be fucked up that badly, they mainpoint is as said, explosions, shooting and a shitload of guys in Power Armor.

Bay is a terrible Director, i agree there but seriously? If you take one of the major Conflicts which does not involve all that much subtlety, he cant really fuck things up that much. Which is probably also why he wouldnt do it. I believe he takes some perverse pleasure out of taking a Franchise and running it gleefully into the ground.

Anyhow, GW wouldnt let him do it, or let anyone do it. GW will publicly crucify you if you get the "go ahead" from them and then dont stick to Canon. We all know what happened to People who mentioned Squa-

Michael Bay is a terrible filmmaker not simply because he is a mainstream box office-smashing action junkie- he's a terrible filmmaker because he's a fucking terrible filmmaker.

He doesn't love his audience more than anything. As a matter of fact, he despises his audience. He's been quoted saying dreadful things about the very IP's he re-appropriates and makes millions off of, showing blithe disdain for "Transformers" as "just a toy commercial for kids." To be fair, it is- but the fact that he freely expresses smug superiority over all things "low-brow" while unironically defending his credibility for setting out to make A FUCKING "TRANSFORMERS" MOVIE serves as a smoking gun that not only is the man a hack who probably can't even spell the word "art" let alone understand it, but also that he's a textbook goddamn narcissist.

He's got an ego the size of Cybertron that gets fed every time his shitty movies briskly stroll to the top of the box office, unchallenged. He once said that "Making an 'art' film is easy", thus finishing off any lingering threads of support he may have had with the "high brow" crowd, but also effectively waving his dick at the film industry in general- he knows his movies are pure spectacle (though they're not even really good at that, except to the minds of the tasteless fucktard zombie horde that also supports "Grey's Anatomy"). He knows his movies don't make people think or feel- they just blindly, blandly excite, and then leave them on their own, unsatisfied and a little betrayed, but still clinging to denial. Must be how his girlfriend feels.

Ah, that one. I still have those DVDs on my shelf; yeah, that show was good, too. And despite the goofy art style (quite reminiscent of Dexter's Laboratory, no?) it was also pretty heavy on the violence, if memory serves.
Sure, if they made a series of 40k episodes like that, I'd take it. :)
Made by the same guy. Genndy did a lot of the Cartoon Network shows during the early 2000s. The thing I like about this one is that it doesn't follow a story structure, but rather showcases the full scale conflict of the war. Applying that to 40K would make perfect sense, since it would let the show span all the major battles being raged.
... Damn, now you've got me salivating at the prospect.

Just think of the glorious scale of destruction one could showcase here. The Word Bearers' invasion of Ultramar, the dropship massacre at Isstvan V, the fall of Prospero, the siege of the Imperial Palace on Terra, ... or post-Heresy engagements, such as the defense of Fenris, the Wars of Armageddon, the first coming of the Tyranid hive fleets, ...

It's fun to dream. ^^

He'd alter the script so it's the U.S military versus the forces of Greenskins and Chaos. His argument would be ''well they're kinda like space marines and imperial''. No, just no. Its a bad idea. He's bad and he should feel bad. Keep it true to the source material or nothing at all. Plus I dont want a human driven plot by some young guy trying to get laid. I want Waaaaaaagh! And not a whole much else out of a warhammer movie. Heck, eternal war is the premise of the entire universe, who are we( correction, who is Michael Bay ) to add shit to sell a movie?
