in a high pitched chinese voice i say
" hheelllooo youo have reached the chinese terrorist organizaion
if you wish to hire us press 1 if you wish to join us press 2
if you just hate a random person and want to place a bomb order press 3
thank you and have a f*cked up day"
usually i don't get to the end before they hang up
I always answer the phone the same as you since I discovered the word 'hello' was invented after the telephone, when people realised that there was no formal way of answering. Following in the footsteps of the great Montgomery Burns. Ahoy ahoy. Now all I need is a ship.
A normal "Hello" to anyone.
If it's a close friend or family then after they say hello or hi back, I'll say hello again and it will continue until they decide to tell me why they called.
Depending on who it is I'll usually answer either "Yo." or "What?!?"
At work I answer "Electronics, Ryan speaking." Only person in the entire freaking store who gives thier name. Makes things so much easier wether it's a coworker or a customer on the other end.
"Hello" though i should start answering more professionally since im handing out introduction cards (tarjetas de presentacion anyone? ) in case is a client or something.
With friends and family I usually answer "hey" or "hi". If I dont know the number its usually the standard "hello" and if at work I have to say my whole call centre piece...I get penalised if I dont.
