If it's the parents the it's "oy skipper"

If it's a friend or relative " the party salutes you comrade"

If it's a an unknown person " good day to you sir/ma'am"

"Good morning sunshine."
"If you're calling about the cat I found, let me remind you that I found it under my car tire."
"I do hope you realise you are interrupting X."
(X referring to the song, band, singer or guitarist I was listening to.)

Usually I just say "Hello". If it's my brother I'll come up with some extended comedic message, usually complaining about him calling me all hours of the day and using a cockney accent. Or "Why do you say hello, I say goodbye." With my Dad sometimes occasional Italian accents regarding mooks and goombahs transpires. Generally it's just hello, or yello.

Depends on the person's that's calling. To friends I say "Hey what's up" or "Oi!". Usually I just say "Yes", or "I'm listening".

"hello", you know, the word specifically invented as something to say when answering the phone.

A normal "Hello" to anyone.
If it's a close friend or family then after they say hello or hi back, I'll say hello again and it will continue until they decide to tell me why they called.
Me too, drives them nuts yet they never learn :)

Also, if someone asks if 'xxx' is there I'll say yes and just sit there until they ask me to go get them.

This, or "Ahoy there" if I'm on speaker phone.

I picked that one up from my dad, rofl.

Though of course there's the "Thank you for calling Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, may I help you? Our special today is the number 5 with cheese."

I usually say 'speak'. Sometimes I say 'yes' to mix it up a bit. Most of the time I don't even bother to answer the phone and just let it ring out. Speaking on the phone is over-rated.

I've done that a few times as well. ^^

Well, now that you've pointed this out, my rebellious need to be different is going to make me answer the phone in radically different ways, such as: "I have your kids."

Now I know I'm set for life.

Just how much Oddworld did you have to play to answer phones like Abe?

I usually just say "Hello". Except to certain friends, to them I say "Yo".
...

How did you guess?

Back in the day when I got my PSone (that thing was damned invincible), I got it with four games. Alien trilogy, Bust-a-move, rayman and Abe's oddysee. Hells yeah.
