Now that you've pointed it out, i'm rather amused.

I mean, valve fanboys are hilarious as it is. This makes it funnier.
Because a game that's been in production a lot longer is coming out before a game that's not been in production for as long (if at all for that matter)?

It takes a strange man to find hilarity in logic.
You misunderstand.

Valve fanboys when hearing of things like this tend to foam out the mouth. Well the bad ones anyways. I find the same hilarity with other fanboys

Most fanboys start foaming at the drop of a hat...

Maybe I don't see what all of you do, but I don't see any relation whatsoever and have no feelings on the matter.

That being said, haven't people been waiting much longer for Duke Nukem Forever than they have been for Episode 3?
For those who don't 'get it'. I believe the joke is that most people thought DNF would be released when hell froze over. And before DNF was announced i'm sure many people made jokes about episode 3 taking longer then DNF. The fact that Nukem actually has a release date now and there's no info on Episode 3 is like the punchline to a long joke.

Episode 3? If it's not Half Life 3, I'll kill Gabe Newell.
Yeah, I second that. At this stage a full sequel on a new engine would be the only way it won't be a huge let-down.
DOESN'T NEED A NEW ENGINE.
Agreed on both counts.

The first point is just pure logic so nothing else needs to be said, the second point I have something to say about it.

Not everything needs newer, epicer graphics. By keeping graphics "low" they save money, appeal to a larger audience(since older PC's can run it, that means more people will buy it), and it will allow them to simply do much more gameplay-wise.

I'd rather them stick with an engine they know and that works across large amounts of rigs, rather then limit themselves with a new engine.

Well, nobody really believed that DNF would be released some day a year ago. A year ago, people still believed that Ep 3 might be coming out next year. So it is kind of amusing, even though DNF has been in development for longer.

Ah yes, "Episode 3". The alleged conclusion to the episodic expansions to the Half-Life 2 Story.
We have dismissed that claim.

I think it's fantastic. I can't wait for the release date.

"Congratulations, Valve. In less the time it took you to create another dull, mediocre expansion pack to your original dull, mediocre game, motherfucking Duke Nukem Forever was released."

The release date of DNF was always that point in the future that was indefinitely X years away, like how fusion power has been 50 years away for 50 years. Saying something will happen afterwards is like making lunch plans for right after the apocalypse. The irony is not in the length of development, but rather that another game seems to be taking up the throne as King of Vaporware even before Duke Nukem has truly relinquished it.
