I think it is goddamn ridiculous. Valve has had more than enough time to make this damn thing but instead they keep working on other projects. FUCK YOU VALVE, YOU CAN'T MAKE US WAIT FOREVER!
Yea. I stopped thinking about the next episode of half life so I'm not upset or anything. Actually, considering it's the same guys behind Borderlands, I would say DNF sounds a lot more enticing right about now. My favorite part of the obox was portal and we're going to see the next one before any of this other stuff.Colonel Mustard said:Should I be upset? They're both different games, developed by different studios. I mean, surely that's just like saying I should be upset that inFamous was released a week earlier than Prototype, isn't it? There's no point of it.
This. Where Duke Nukem became synonymous with "long development time", Episode 3 will gradually. The memory of Duke Nukem's development hell will live on for a while though.THEAFRONINJA said:I wouldn't be too surprised if Ep. 3 became the new DN Forever. I mean, I try not to complain, as I know that they're just doing it to make it better, and I should be thankful I'm even getting it, but it's starting to get a bit silly now...
Three years in an episodic series is a lot worse than three years for a whole game.Hubilub said:*reads all the comments saying that Ep. 3 is going to be the new DNF*
It's only been three fucking years since Episode 2.
Episode 3 doesn't even qualify as vaporware!
Not to mention that Portal 2 looks great anyway.Irridium said:Agreed on both counts.Woodsey said:Because a game that's been in production a lot longer is coming out before a game that's not been in production for as long (if at all for that matter)?dogstile said:Now that you've pointed it out, i'm rather amused.
I mean, valve fanboys are hilarious as it is. This makes it funnier.
It takes a strange man to find hilarity in logic.
DOESN'T NEED A NEW ENGINE.MiracleOfSound said:Yeah, I second that. At this stage a full sequel on a new engine would be the only way it won't be a huge let-down.Onyx Oblivion said:Episode 3? If it's not Half Life 3, I'll kill Gabe Newell.
The first point is just pure logic so nothing else needs to be said, the second point I have something to say about it.
Not everything needs newer, epicer graphics. By keeping graphics "low" they save money, appeal to a larger audience(since older PC's can run it, that means more people will buy it), and it will allow them to simply do much more gameplay-wise.
I'd rather them stick with an engine they know and that works across large amounts of rigs, rather then limit themselves with a new engine.
Many many people care about Duke. Asking if anyone cares anymore is like asking if anyone shares your opinion. Yes, they do.Serum211 said:Do anyone care about DNF anymore? I thought evrybody stopped caring around 2009.
How many dare bet it will not be worth the wait?
