I think it is goddamn ridiculous. Valve has had more than enough time to make this damn thing but instead they keep working on other projects. FUCK YOU VALVE, YOU CAN'T MAKE US WAIT FOREVER!

Should I be upset? They're both different games, developed by different studios. I mean, surely that's just like saying I should be upset that inFamous was released a week earlier than Prototype, isn't it? There's no point of it.
Yea. I stopped thinking about the next episode of half life so I'm not upset or anything. Actually, considering it's the same guys behind Borderlands, I would say DNF sounds a lot more enticing right about now. My favorite part of the obox was portal and we're going to see the next one before any of this other stuff.
So I'm fine.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Ep. 3 became the new DN Forever. I mean, I try not to complain, as I know that they're just doing it to make it better, and I should be thankful I'm even getting it, but it's starting to get a bit silly now...
This. Where Duke Nukem became synonymous with "long development time", Episode 3 will gradually. The memory of Duke Nukem's development hell will live on for a while though.

Not long ago Valve said that in the next twelve there will be 3 big surprises and this twelve months include E3 2011 and considering that Portal 2 will be out at february 9 2011, an anouncment for ep3/hl3(what ever) won't hurt the sales of Portal 2. So, I'm pretty confident that we'll hear something about it at E3 2011.

*reads all the comments saying that Ep. 3 is going to be the new DNF*

It's only been three fucking years since Episode 2.

Episode 3 doesn't even qualify as vaporware!

not too fussed about it really, I don't really want any of those games, although things can change.

Three years in an episodic series is a lot worse than three years for a whole game.

Anyway.
Couldn't really care, never played a Duke Nukem game, I hate the character of Duke, and I dislike the Half-Life series. They're not bad, but they certainly don't deserve all this jesus praise they're getting.

Now that you've pointed it out, i'm rather amused.

I mean, valve fanboys are hilarious as it is. This makes it funnier.
Because a game that's been in production a lot longer is coming out before a game that's not been in production for as long (if at all for that matter)?

It takes a strange man to find hilarity in logic.

Episode 3? If it's not Half Life 3, I'll kill Gabe Newell.
Yeah, I second that. At this stage a full sequel on a new engine would be the only way it won't be a huge let-down.
DOESN'T NEED A NEW ENGINE.
Agreed on both counts.

The first point is just pure logic so nothing else needs to be said, the second point I have something to say about it.

Not everything needs newer, epicer graphics. By keeping graphics "low" they save money, appeal to a larger audience(since older PC's can run it, that means more people will buy it), and it will allow them to simply do much more gameplay-wise.

I'd rather them stick with an engine they know and that works across large amounts of rigs, rather then limit themselves with a new engine.
Not to mention that Portal 2 looks great anyway.

Last I was told, Duke Nukem Forever was to come in a bundle pack with Episode 3 and Gran Turismo 5.

...
I'm just happy to be getting Duke Nukem Forever.
I haven't played Half-Life 2 all the way through yet (the normal one, I haven't even started on the episodes (they are different, yes?)) so it no big deal to me...
I really need to get the Orange Box...
And a good computer...
...
At least I'll have Duke.

Do anyone care about DNF anymore? I thought evrybody stopped caring around 2009.

How many dare bet it will not be worth the wait?

Cold. I feel so cold...

And somewhat amused. Not that I actually ever cared about Duke Nukem, but it is kind of legendary, and Half-Life 3 (it better not be and Episode after all this time) might just take this title.

Many many people care about Duke. Asking if anyone cares anymore is like asking if anyone shares your opinion. Yes, they do.
On a less angry note, why would people "stop caring." Its not like its all that important in one's daily life. Just follow the news on it when it pops up and go about your daily business. Its only when you become fanatic about something that a long wait for a specific IP begins to matter.
