if i am prepared for the pain(like when I know someone is about to hit me) i really just ignore it, dunno how i do, it might still hurt later on
if i am not prepared(hitting my toe ona door and such) i start cursing very loud and colourfull

I whine. I don't like pain.

Small stuff like stubbing a toe or pulling a hangnail too far I can usually just say a profanity and let it go.
Stuff like cuts, burns and small impalements (stepping on a tack, corner of a lego brick, etc.) I'll ***** and moan about until the brunt of it goes away.

I've never broken a bone before, god help those around me should that even happen.

I don't ignore it. Pain is the only way we grow and learn. I try to enjoy it as much as possible, think of it as a learning experience

Strangely enough, I focus on the area with my mind, and it kinda dulls it.
And if that doesn't work, I put pressure in it.

It's sorta hard to explain.
Yeah, kinda works for me too. Maybe helps stimulate endorphin release? Meh, all I know is a bit of focus works wonders :) Dunno if that would work for an injury more serious than skinning a knee on concrete whilst skating though - didn't really help when I got a lung infection...

I don't usually realize I'm in pain until 5 minutes - hours on end when I realize, Holy crap, I'm in pain....

That might actually be it.

I suck it up and move on. I've had to spar with a layer of skin hanging off of my foot, and had my finger fractured in the middle of a round. Along with the usual stubbed toes, hard punches to the solar plexus (sp?) and general punches to the face that hurt, but I can't sit down or stop the match so I've learned to just move on.

Although biting your tongue hurts like the dickens. For that I just swear under my breath.

Most of the time I'm very hyped up and distracted by nature that I think it's just my adrenaline level (or a chemical compound quite like it) that generally keeps me from feeling very much pain. Don't say that I don't but I just don't give in and soldier on, sort of saying.

When I get stabbed, or hit in the crotch with a soccer ball, I just tell myself "this doesn't hurt". I find that I can completely ignore pain, but the longer I wait to feel it, the more it hurts.

I have a lot more trouble dealing with persistent pain. I'm in constant pain from some bad orthodontic work, and this is often debilitating. When I get hurt badly, like a wrenched shoulder or when I walked into a door, the pain from that is often less than my jaw aches.

A little pain never hurt anyone...Hehe, I know that makes no sense.
But pain is good for the average person. Tells you everything's working and you're still human.

But if you must ignore it for the simple act of doing anything, then I generally just put a mental block around it. The mind is a very powerful tool.

I laugh when I'm in pain, depending on how excruciating it is. But, I always try to laugh.

I normally try to forget pain by causing more on a different part of my body. I quickly forget about the old one.

Physical pain= press on the wound and release so it feels like some pressure has been relieved.
emotional pain= popping in my old copy of Daikatana for the N64 until I completely go numb.
