In all seriousness, Deathnote, Evangelion, and Cowboy Bebop are my favorites.

Miyazaki animes. Most anime is either just gibberish, weird for the sake of being weird, or just filled with so many unlikeable characters you want to punch everyone on screen. Miyazaki's films are the best. Your characters are wonderfully developed, the art style is magnificent and fantastical, there's tons of imagination on display in pretty much every one of his films, and they can evoke some pure emotions, whether it be laughter, sadness, beauty, such and such, and derpy derpy doo. I really couldn't ask for anything more.

For an actual anime show, I'd go with Elfen Lied, Code Geass, and Death Note (Though I haven't really finished it yet). They have some good characters, and some pretty mind-blowing twists here and there. I've heard some great things about Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo though, so that could be something to look out for.

My tastes are pretty varied. I tend to like slice of life and psychological anime the most, though I can end up liking pretty much anything.
I mean with my favorite anime series being Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu, Cowboy Bebop, Paranoia Agent, Baccano, and Gurren Lagann, I think my taste is kind of hard to pinpoint.
With Evangelion being my absolute favorite.

I like the kind of anime that's got titles like Nanika Mamotte Happy or Futari De Nigebasho 100%. For deep stuff I'll turn to manga.

I watch and enjoy all kinds of anime, from shounen anime like Bleach and Naruto, to slice of life anime. Like Lucky star or a personal favourite Today in class 5-2.

Also the number of episodes that an anime contains, doesn't really matter to me, as long as the show is good. I'll watch anything from 6 episodes (FLCL) to something with over 200 episodes. (Bleach)

Nothing that is in any way driven by retarded fetishes. It has to have good story, characters and animation. "Elfen Lied" which a lot of people here seem to like is in my opinion both retarded and juvenile in the most disgusting way. To me it looks like it's made especially for people who really want to masturbate to "Happy Tree Friends". Dumb pubescent boys who think it's HAЯDKOR and dumb pubescent girls who think it's empowering or some shit. Those age groups aren't even actually allowed to see this piece of crap.

Oh, so personal opinion just doesn't go that way? Or I don't have the right to have an opinion before I have more than 1000 posts? I admit I didn't read the whole thread before writing, I don't know how many mentioned EL. BUT I made sure to make it clear that what I have written is my OWN PERSONAL OPINION AND I DON'T EXPECT ANYONE TO TAKE IT FOR GRANTED.
Furthermore, your forum profile states you just turned 15 and live in the US where this animation has a TV-MA rating, if IMDB is to be believed, so I don't think my statement that EL appeals to kids who shouldn't actually be watching it falls too far.
