I'm impressed with the honesty here. I half expected to see "I would go in and take some names and kick all kinds of ass!"

That's exactly it. The point of reCAPTCHA is to use the time people are spending on it to identify words from old written texts that digital optical recognition can't pick up corretly.

Eugh... i don't think i would do that good. At least in frontline battle.

But hey war isn't all shooting (or even a big portion), maintenance and logistic is a huge part of it too.

Guerilla tactics. Since the only war I'd be willing to fight in would be the defense of my country. Though we'd probably drown before we could get ready....

Eh, that's no biggy. Our army just got their budget cut and over 12.000 soldiers have to go and find work elsewhere, with most of the equipment going with them.

I guess basic training in our military is learning how to properly surrender, or sow a white flag.
Yeah... But that's what militia's are for right? And even though we don't have any tanks anymore we'll be able to manage if we build lots of boats and flee.

I would probably be shot in the head putting flowers into the soldiers' gun barrels and singing 'Imagine' by John Lennon.

Granted that I pass basic and OTS, I should be fine. However, if I get to be what I really want to be, I'll also be going to Corpsman school in Texas. Then I'll be stationed on a ship where I'll sit down there treating the random accident for the rest of the conflict.

I would fare terribly in real life war. I am not fit, I have poor reaction times, I cannot run fast and I would almost certainly would not be able to fit in with a squad of "tough fightin' men", given that I am introverted, silent and opinionated. If my squad-mates didn't shoot me in the back to shut me up (and that happens a surprising amount in war), then the enemy would probably shoot my wobbly, slow moving, weak body with bullets.

That is, of course, if I was in the infantry on the front lines. Most soldiers, believe it or not, NEVER see combat. EVER. That doesn't mean they have it easy - they are still in danger, and they have to work very hard, but a fair number of soldiers don't actually fight, but instead handle paper work, logistics, repairs and military police work. For every 1 soldier on the front lines, there's at least 5 who are responsible for supplying, organizing and sending that soldier there.

So if I was in the army, I think that my terrible physique, lack of co-ordination and general unsociability would help land me either a desk job, a medical job (I have training in biological sciences) or a suicidally dangerous job. Hey, I've read a lot of military history books - it is NOT uncommon for an officer to give a hated member of his squad a dangerous job in the hopes of getting him killed. And it is also not uncommon for hated officers to suddenly get "killed in action" by a bullet to the head while he's sleeping. You know it happens. It isn't all sunshine and roses in the military - either you fit in, and you do well, or you don't fit in and it's really awful. I know that I would NOT get along with fellow members of the army. I talk too little, I don't open up, I don't trust people and I am highly, HIGHLY opinionated - none of which would endear me to others.

In a hypothetical global conflict in a conscripted army I would say my chances of survival are below f not average depending on tactics. My aim is ok (not brilliant but I can hit my target) and I can run like hell when called upon. I can also use a few melee weapons although I doubt they would be of any use. However that said the career I intend to go in would make me exempt from conscription anyway, so unless I became very patriotic from now and the time of this hypothetical war I doubt I will ever experience war in my life time...

I'd put it this way, if I was ever put into a warzone, I would assume that would mean I'm a soldier, and would've been trained to be able to deal with a combat situation, physically and mentally, so it that situation, I think I'd be ok.

As I am at moment...not very good, a terrible rebel solider ^^

I would think I will be a coward about it like stay behind cover and being afraid of getting shot. If I do somehow survive it all I would have post dramatic stress for sure.

I'd ask for a Sniper Rifle, I don't care if i'm good with it or not but I would want to stay as far away from the enemy as possable.

That or be a Chinook Pilot, or a APC driver.

I'd probably trip over my own mine and get my legs blown off. I have the coordination of a 3-legged elephant...

Well, other than the fact that I don't have the work ethic required to be in the military. Sure, I'd go for it.

I would die. Screaming, or whimpering. A battlefield is not the place for me. I'd rather hide starving in the mountains as opposed to going to war, regardless of the cause.
War ain't no fun kids.
