I have a very positive opinion of Canada, it seems much like the Scandinavian countries, a liberal country more occupied by the wellfare of it's citizens than showing off on a global scale with nuclear arsenals and other such pointlessness. Prosperity over Power. Also some splendid vistas to be found I hear.

I see Canada as our friendly neighbor to the North. I have no beef with you, although I find it funny when you say 'eh'. I'm rather positive on the country, Canada minds it's own business, sends us some decent celebrities (Kids in the Hall) and some bad ones (everyone else), and does it's own thing. Doesn't sound bad at all really, it seems a bit more relaxed, and I'm in support of less people around me. I doubt I'll ever expatriate, but if I did I'd probably move to the Northwest Territories.
This!(I love Sarcasm)

We see Canada as a country made up of one third Mounties, one third Lumberjacks, one third Moose, all who play hockey, while a twirly-mustached undertaker ties damsels to traintracks

I always saw it as USA with a better government.
That's just me, though.

Everyone else not american probably just sees it as America's much more laid back younger brother.

Sadly the only thing I know about Canada is you're basically the USA with nicer people and tax funded healthcare which is why my long term goal is to move there. Think you'll have space for a small one in 10 years time?

I will apologise in advance for what I'm about to say.

I am not fond of Canada. No, I'm not from the US, I'm from Norway. Before I continue, I will also add that this is my general experience with Canadians, and I do not think it applies to all of them.

The Canadians I have met have all had a few traits in common. A smug arrogance and sense of superiority. A certain pride that appears to stem from the fact that they are Canadian. They have all also been introverted, and cared little for what happens outside their own sphere of life.

Done with the people, the land itself seems fairly nice - the landscapes are beautiful and varied (as far as I know) and it's a diverse country.

I like Canada. I don't like the generic inhabitants of Canada, though I'll toss in a reminder that I care more about the individual than where they're from. But all Canadians I've met have shared aforementioned traits, and that just rubs me the wrong way.

So I was on another forum the other day, where an America told me he didn't trust Canadians because "they call soccer football, and spend more time watching it than good ole American football"

So apparently some Americans don't know anything about Canada, which isn't surprising when you consider all those shows where a guy is on the street and asks random Americans if they can name the current president, or if they know what the stars on the flag represent and they get it utterly wrong when its about their own damn country.

Also when I posted a link to my university he said it wasn't a university address because it doesn't end in .edu. But I'm pretty sure all canadian universities have .ca addresses, I think it might just be americans that use .edu umm... yeah I dunno I just thought it was funny :p

As a Canadian I completely agree with this guy and it's entirely infuriating. The amount of ignorance is quite astounding here, and sometimes I feel like I'm just about the only person who isn't irrational, illogical, or just completely insane.

I've been to Canada and I loved it! I thought you guys had a really nice country with some amazingly beautiful scenary. I probably wouldn't like it as much during winter when it drops to -40c but when I went over it was autumn and it was simply amazing with the colours of the trees, the georgeous Rocky Mountains and some really nice and unique cities like Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto. I'd go back anytime (except winter).

Glad I didn't offend you with the statement - and glad that you agree.

i see it as a place where it has given us everyone good........ except for that crazy guy who stabbed a random guy next to him on the bus, cut his head off, showed it to the passengers and took a bite out of it

Canada is one of the few countries I can imagine myself moving to when I'm older.

That is all.
