I like canada for three reasons.

1. Bilingual
2. Allows same sex marriage
3. Has Braille on bank notes

That means Canada is the only country in the world where two blind French lesbians can get married and pay for it in Cash.

I think I saw a Ren and Stimpy episode about Canada once. It was great, although I expect you're national anthem isn't really about dieing in lots of horrible ways.

they make a point of being so quiet and such, so that nobody would ever expect their nefarious plans.
it won't be long till we see several million canadians marching down the border with guns in hand.

Speaking as a Canadian: If you look at us historically i think an accurate assessment is we are the world's Bruce Banner:

Laid back, easy going, fairly quiet, polite...

But don't make us angry. You really don't want to see us when we're angry.

For a national pass-time we go watch a bunch of 6'4" brutes skate around on ice and beat the tar out of each other :p

I'm one of the few Americans that doesn't hate Canada, except Quebec because of their French ancestry and otherwise perceived snobbishness (although I like to think that most Americans that say that Canada sucks and what not are just joking)

Otherwise I have a good deal of respect for my Canuck neighbors. Having to live in the cold for most of the year. They don't get the respect they deserve often. Plus they have a backbone that I think that a lot of us Americans don't really realize. They sent their fair share of men to World War I and II, Korea and Afghanistan.

A huge forest with a couple of big cities, in one of which people speak a weird kind of French.

Very much a European country by heart with a strong social system.

And it's ridiculed by Americans for reasons I cannot fathom. It should be the other way around.

What a surprise, this thread turned into yet another America-hating circlejerk.

When I was a kid I went to Toronto and thought Canadians were funny and laid back and awesome. Then I learned that was just Toronto. When I grew up I went to work in the oilfields with a bunch of guys from Alberta, B.C. and Newfoundland, and discovered that Canadians are just as likely to be drunken, brawling, foulmouthed idiots. I have seriously never heard the depth of profanity anywhere that I heard regularly from Canadians. It's like they just sit around in their igloos making that shit up all night, probably in a doomed attempt to describe how cold it is.

I see Canada as a glorious nation filled with beautiful beaches, tropical weather, and a wonderful destination to get away from those cold winter nights. I just wish the citizens weren't so goddamn ugly and war-mongering.
I see what you did there...

As Robin Williams said, "Canada is like a loft apartment over a really great party." Always makes me laugh.

Jon Stewert: ?I've been to Canada, and I've always gotten the impression that I could take the country over in about two days.?

John Cruickshank: "We Canadians live in a blind spot about our identity. We have very strong feelings about who we aren't but only weak ones about who we are. We're passionate about what we don't want to become but oddly passive about what we should be."

"I get to go to lots of overseas places, like Canada." -- Britney Spears, when asked the best part of being famous.

J. Bartlet Brebner: "Americans are benevolently ignorant about Canada, while Canadians are malevolently well informed about the United States."

Richard Staines: "Canadians are generally indistinguishable from Americans, and the surest way of telling the two apart is to make the observation to a Canadian."

P. J. O'Rourke: "Canadians don't deal with the same kind of health care problems and traumas we face. They have a health care system based on treating hockey injuries and curing sinus infections that come from trying to pronounce French vowels."

Al Capone: "I don't even know what street Canada is on."
