Awesome reflexes/reaction times, hand/eye coordination as well, and problem/puzzle solving.

Negative, very sleepy getting to school :p late night gaming ftw.

Good reflexes, hand-eye coordination (though I already have that from piano), and a greater ability to analyze weaknesses and turn a critical, impartial eye on things. (I reviewed for a while.)

The bad...dislike of crowds (though not people in general), embarrassment at saying that I play games, and criticism from my parents though I'm out of the house.

The neutral (though I see it as good)...the realization that I don't want a "gamer girl" as a companion. I can only take so much nerd at once.

All of you who say you don't like people or feel comfortable in crowds, are you sure you haven't gravitated towards gaming because of this rather games making you that way?
I myself am not the most sociable of people but am not as cripplingly insecure as I used to be.
I just love gaming for what it is. A preferable diversion to sitting infront of the bollocks box watching whatever Simon Cowell has decreed as entertainment.
I do go through phases where it's all I do, which seems to be happening right now (haven't seen a film in yonks), but I'll usually go through a phase of not going near a console for weeks, too.

It hasn't affected me. I was born into a family of gamers so i can't think of not knowing stuff about them even if i hated them on a jack 'the ripper' thompson level

I bet I've got one you've never heard before: My gaming habit has actually strengthened my fairly pacifistic leanings, making me a peaceful individual. And here everyone says gaming aids violence. Go figure.

It made me more knowledgeable of technology and having a hobby balanced out my emotional state. The only negative effects are the budgetary concerns and having played Superman 64, Army of 2 and World of Warcraft.

I have dyspraxia-like issues (think dyslexia, but instead of problems with words, it's spatial orientation) so gaming is actually helpful to me in that I have learnt to read maps, most of the time!

Also, my gaming has always been really social irl, in that even when it's a single player game, there's someone else in the room with me. I don't think it's had any negative effects on me.

Gaming has provided me with something fun that I genuinely enjoy.
Gaming has provided vital escapism in times when it is needed!
Online gaming has netted me too very good friends.
Gaming has provided a wealth of conversation material with like-minded gamers!

And last but definately not least. Gaming has saved me financially... the alternative for a good time, going out and getting drunk, is incredibly expensive! Like, pretty much the taxis alone is the price of a game right there!

I like to think I'm exactly the same as I would be without video games BUT...

I've been off university for a week and spent all of it playing Cod4 and World at War online and now I've done my back in from being hunched at the xbox 360. I'm on a power of painkillers at the moment and I'm also at work, the whole day is floating by like a beautiful dream.
