When did you first start playing? Were you in the arcades back in the Galaga days? Did you get a Nintendo when you were in elementary school? Visit your friend with the SNES and get hoooked? Or did you get a gaming PC a year ago and you're still new?

For me, I started playing when the Xbox came out (The original).

That doesn't mean I don't know about the classics, though. Let's Plays are a great way to play a game without playing a game.

I'm going to have to say my roots began in Wisconsin, so perhaps 11 or 12 years ago? I started gradually and worked up to being an all around gamer now. I may not be the best of the best, but I have fun and that's truly all that matters, neh?

Basically all my life.

Ever since I was 4 and my father showed me how to play Full Throttle.

And of course, there was Nanosaur.

Such epic games...

I used to love playing games and friend's houses, but my parents always opposed gaming. Until they got me my first console (an xbox) at the end of grade 4 because I had to change schools AGAIN. I don't think they've ever regretted a decision more than that.

Essentially all of my life (so over two decades). I could use DOS when I was four, so I started by playing the old Gold Box RPGs with my father (and these old minigames that came on 5 1/4" floppies). Then I got my Genesis when I was seven, and really took off from there.

Since I was very little.

But to be honest, I didn't become a gamer gamer until near the end of the last console generation.

(As in go on forums, fallow release dates ect. Though I would always read gaming magazines)

Pretty much all my life, 20 years in all. My first games were on the Commodore 64 my parents bought in the summer of 1989. Space Taxi and Boulder Dash began to monopolize my time from then on.

From there it went via NES&SNES and simultaneously MS-DOS and Windows 3.1 on the PC 386&486 arcithectures.

Then we upgraded to a pentium 90 MHz processor with Windows 95, and PC it has been ever since.

But I still sometimes play Battletoads on the original console, just to get a reality check on how insanely difficult and mind-bogglingly repetitive games could be back way then.

I can barely remember the first games I played. It was about 20 years ago on a home computer and I've been gaming ever since.

As long as I can remember. Around the age of 14 I got more into it. Probably due to the friends I had online, and how awkward I was in public. yes I know that's pathetic, I'm nowhere near that bad now.
