1995-Since it was possible for me to hold a controller and actually play the game. (4 years old)
I managed to beat sonic 1 and 2 with all the chaos emeralds by the time i got to 5.
Played the remade version of donkey kong for the GB. Remember when the N64 was the most awesome jump in technology ever...
Blowing into cartridges ...It worked.
I'm... sorry but there is no way you beat sonic 2 with all the emeralds. You could have beaten One without too much problem, but being able to beat Sonic 2 with all the emeralds... you're clearly lying.
That was insanely impossible, and I even had a bit of trouble trying to do it on emulator.
There is no way that is humanly possible you can collect all 7 emeralds without somehow cheating.

Thats faith. I Did not cheat.
I was a freak at those games, as they were the only thing that i really did at the time... Well most of the time. It was constant practice, with the fact that i basically got them all in within the first few levels, and a crap load of restarts.

Then, you must have gotten extremely lucky also.
I tried recently to do it, and I found the only humanly possible way was slowing it down via emulator, and reloading saves over and over.

Yea...
Though i never said i did it solo.
I had my bro as tails. The Bonus levels are the same over and over. Half the time it is (or now was) memory to beat the levels. Knowing when to jump, when to go right/left and when to do a round the world. Yea, i say we got lucky once... Then we had to beat the game normally..
Which actually was not that difficult, as you unlock super sonic the instant you get the 7th emerald. (With the traditional 'collect 50 rings and jump') and my constant playthroughs made it seemless.
God-damn Robotnik (Yes that is his name!)His overlord thing on the Death egg killed me heaps due to fluke hits. Fortunately i had heaps of continues... and lives.

Aha!
That explains it. The AI is pretty retarded. It's impossible to beat by yourself, and it's even quite hard using an emulator.
But, that explains it a bit easier.

At first, it was harder. Because he was worse than the computer.
He learned at least. And suffered for letting me be sonic by basically being left behind every few seconds.
Yea the AI was stupid, and got me killed on a few playthroughs (like when they hit a boss before you and then you land and take the hit from the boss because you didn't register the hit and bounce away... ARGH!). Some attempts when he(brother) wasn't available, i turned off tails.

PC: 1st grade. They let us play primitive computer games at the end of class back in the 80s, & Carmen Sandiego durring recess in the early 90s.

Console: Started when Sonic & Knuckles came out.

Bounced between PC & a friend's Playstation, in the late 90s.

Went cold-turkey in the 200s, due to interest in anime/manga & still owning a Genesis.

Returned to PC gaming & Batman comics in 2007.

1984, Atari 5200. Liked it a lot, but really got obsessed when my parents got me a NES in 1987.

Been playing since 1996 when I was 5. Dad bought our first computer a few months after our family moved to America. First game for that computer that I remember playing was Need For Speed 1. It has been a good 13 years of gaming filled with ups and downs.

Started with Atari then the original nintendo, SNES a bit, I didn't have one but my friend had a Megadrive, basically only played console games like that up until Unreal Tournament and Wc3(the only RTS game I've liked ever, haven't played SC though), then WoW, which I've since quit till Cataclysm. So I guess I would've been 5-6 when I played was playing Sonic, Mario and Street Fighter in their heyday, around '94-'95, so around 15 years.

This is gonna sound sort of funny, but I have loved games and gaming since I was 3 years old. So that would be about...'98,'99. It all started with DOOM, my somewhat brilliant father, who had both a home computer and a copy of the game would sometimes set it up for me and my sister to play. In the following few years I got experience with console gaming from my ps1 owning friends, most of whom owned that classic Spyro the dragon (Before he became a little corporate whore). I got my first handheld around the time I started kindergarten, so that's early 2001 with the gameboy colour, late 2001 I'll always remember us heading out to what was then Grace Brothers after school the day it came out, and buying it along with Mad Dash (A very unappreciated game). So that means I've been gaming for around 11 years, and wouldn't want to have spent those years any other way. And you can probably figure out the rest of the story, mind you I always feel awkward coming here and posting my little stories of my early gaming days with the xbox and GBC, when other people come on here and talk about how they had things like Ataris and Nintendos to entertain them, I guess Freud would say "Gaming envy". Though just think about that, when I was 3 I was gunning my way through demons, zombies and other nasties in DOOM, and have been doing so in most releases since, yet I'm a pacifist kind of guy, well I'm gonna go set some cats on fire now, maybe tape a plastic bag over someones head.

I had the original Magnavox Odyssey in the mid 70's. My dad got the Atari 2600 in '78 as soon as he got his tax refund. My buddy had ColecoVision and we'd all hit his house after school to play. I got the 5200 next, the Atari 800XL computer, and Commodore 64. Unfortunately, I completely skipped over NES during my late teens/early 20s (car). Came back with several PC's; 286 w/DOS, 386 Win3.1, my sister's 486 Win3.11. Finally I went from N64 to PS2 to my current PS3. In a nutshell, well over 30 years.
