How often do you change your avatar?

I'm considering changing mine to a picture of an Omega symbol with two dragons around it, but I've had the dragon yin-yang for so long... I feel the one or two people who know that avatar will forget me, seeing how that's how I remember people on forums.

Well I've changed it a few times since I've joined, but mainly for seasonal variations. I used to have a Rorschach one which was awesome, but then I changed to my bird. I can't change it again because if I do I can't put it back.

Haven't changed mine since I've set it. I've had the same Skype avatar for the past 4 years... And on fb, I pretty much stay on one profile pic for a few months, then decide it's time for a change, cycle through a few in about a week, then stay on it for the next few months.

I guess I'm just too lazy to be bothered. On fb, it's probably because I see my friends changing their pics.

You should animate that Avatar so the birds actually bounce. That would be awesome.

Yeah, the pic I've used for it is actually an animated gif where they bounce. I've heard the trick is to resize the gif, and I've been meaning to do that for the best part of last year. Maybe I'll get around to doing that when I'm bored one afternoon.

Never. I've since other Hypnotoad gifs, but none that inspired me to change it. Most of the others were very...tacky.

I went through a lot of Elder Scrolls ones when I join the site, and a Grandia 2 avatar, too.

Never. I use different avatars sometimes for different sites, but once I pick one for a site I never go back and change it.

On this forum, Her Holiness will probably be my avatar for some time to come. On other fora, I use various pictures of Kimiko Ross from Dresden Codak, on account of Miss Ross being an ultimate badass.

Almost never. I like this one. I think the last time I changed my avatar on any website was when I changed it from the hippie nun at Woodstock to this one... about two years ago maybe?

Though I have a collection of around 900 LJ icons that I happened to like and kept.

I've only changed it once since joining. I try to choose one that I really like to avoid constantly changing it. I know, for me, that it's easier to recognize a user if they have the same avatar for a prolonged period of time, so I try to do the same.

Facebook however is when I pretty much get a new photo tagged. (If it makes me look pretty that is.)
