...He'll play a minigame similar to Jetpac (who the heck remembers that game).
That or he'll just say "Planet..NOW!!!!" and magically, appear on the surface of any planet he wants.

I know the bullets are supposed to be accelerated to extreme velocities, but i don't think their going anywhere near light speed.

The Kodiak shuttle was built for stealth, and it has very weak shields, so when you fire a gun from it, they will see you, shoot you down, and it becomes your coffin.

Don't you ever read the codex?

Of course you don't, nobody reads the fucking codex.

Except for me.

That could be solved by either having a less stealthy shuttle for combat, or just upgrading it with better armor and weapons using the existing upgrading system. But my original point was, wouldn't you like the vehicle sections more if you could fly around in them instead of having to drive up a 90 degree mountain side to get anywhere?

And i do read some of the codex, just not all of them. I'm Commander Shepard damnit! I got shit to do and bad guys to kill! That's why they gave you a secretary to handle all those mundane things!

I hate to be a smartass but- actually, I love being a smartass- Kelly Chambers is a "Yeoman", not a secretary.

I'm still lonely.

I don't miss the Mako, and I won't miss planet scanning if they axe it. I'm good with the shuttle dropping the ground team where they need to be instead of having to drive there. I am curious how the new Hammerhead will work in the DLC that is coming out later this month. Depending on its success and popularity that might change how things are done in ME3.

Yahtzee had a point in his review about the Mako explorable planets giving the galaxy a greater sense of size than the missions in ME2, but I'd also argue the missions in ME2 were better constructed. Maybe ME3 could have some explorable planets (using the shuttles) with random encounters in addition to the scripted missions?

I think that the system used in Mass Effect 2 was good but that for Mass Effect 3 they should make it more interactive. Possibly making space travel take place in a retro 2D side-scroller.

I hope to God there is no more resource scanning. A vehicle that actually works and landscapes which aren't purpose made to be infuriating to navigate would be fine by me.

Do you think they will be able to make three-dimensional air travel work, or will it just be a mako that hovers slightly off the ground?

While I doubt Bioware will go full flight sim on us I'm sure they can figure out something a bit nicer than a hovering Mako masquerading as a flyer. Technically the vehicles used would have to be able to achieve escape velocity to dock with the Normandy, which would give them a very high operational ceiling, but I doubt the devs would want to give us tens of thousands of feet of atmosphere to play around in. Unless there are cloud cities orbiting gas giants in ME3. Hmmm.

It's an interesting question, but I'm not sure where the happy medium between these two options would be.

I would like to know how the combat will work.

Combat with a swivel turret on a normal rover was hard enough, so flight combat with a swivel turret will probably be even more disorienting.

Perhaps they will implement a lock-on system like borderlands did, and god knows that helped me a lot when trying to drive those horrible vehicles.
