They sell DVD cases with number combinations to open them, if you're really desperate.

Tell them the truth.

You can say "I love this show. Its amazing." Problem solved.
Basically.

(To the OP) Believe it or not, though, that works better with really violent things (Hellsing, for example), than with childish things or things that can be considered girly. I had a real hard time getting people off my back about Lucky Star, Marimite, Kannazuki no Miko (which isn't really all that girly, but at first glance is), and more, however, I had no such problem with Death Note or others that focus on violence, action, or in the case of Judas, bastardizing Christianity.

You could always hide it where no right minded person would snoop? And if they find it you can say "Well if you wanted to snoop in my porn collection you got what you deserved."
Won't it be even worse if they find it in your porn collection, it may send the wrong sort of image.

"I was planning on selling them (on Ebay?). They're worth a lot of money to collectors, and I got it for next to nothing at a rummage sale (my mother dragged me to?)."

This way, if you're taking good care of them and they're neatly stacked, no one will be suspicious. Also, if someone notices you haven't sold them after awhile, you can always claim that they went "out of fashion"/you just decided to watch them to see what the hell they were all about. From there, you could even say that you ended up enjoying the movies.

Of course, if you're OK with who you are, the best thing to say would be something entirely honest. "I like this anime stuff. It's really not as bad as you may think."

Get dirt on everyone you know, so that when something like this comes up, you can blackmail their silence.

Alternatively, telling the truth is much easier and probably a better idea overall.

I don't hide any DVD I've got. I have the Pirates movies (You know the two I'm talking about) right next to Pirates Of Johnny Depp. Although I don't have any DVD covers that are pink, or anything like that. The individual cases for Ghost IN The Shell are pretty revealing, but they're inside a giant box which has just a metalic blue covering (Collectors box set, got it cheap at a store).

Because depending on where you live you'd probably get disowned for it.

I'm proud of my anime DVD collection. I display them proudly on the top shelves of my DVD cabinet

-Rozen Maiden
-Rozen Maiden Traumend
-Rozen Maiden Ouverture
-08th MS Team
-Mobile Suit Gundam
-Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (purchased online today)
-Outlaw Star (UNCUT)
-Trigun
-Cowboy Bebop
-Blue Gender (UNCUT)

I have many others, but these come forward most in my mind.

I also have Venture Brothers seasons 1 and 2.

Agreed. You don't want people to find Dragonball Z DVDs next to Bubble Butt Babes Volumes 1-64(a name I just made up but may actually exist).

Can somebody please google BBB and tell me if it actually exists (just for shits and giggles).

Could just take the disc out and put it in another case. Gets rid of the pink. Or alternatively spray paint the pink case a more manly colour I guess.
Or just turn the sleeve inside-out.

I'm known for having a strange taste in movies and music. My friends have made a game out of finding what bizarre titles and genres I've added to my collection. For instance, I recently found a special edition dvd of Plan 9 From Outter Space, with director's commentary and behind-the-scenes vids, including a section on the "props and special effects", which made me laugh so hard I snorted cola out my nose.

One hilarious thing about my DVD collection is that one of the titles in it is Elfen lied and the case of it is completely pink.

I've gotten a few strange looks when people glance at it however if they say anything I just play it and let whoever is watching it enjoy mental scarring for life.

The extreme violence and gore is usually enough to shut anyone up who sits there calling it girlie DVD.

Say you're a collector and you got it just for the heck of it or for the sake of completeness.
