I have a simple solution to get rid of sexism.
No-one talk about it.
No-one look at anyone in any different way.
Get rid of chivalry and the assumption women can't do anything for themselves.
Get rid of the principle that because you have a cock you can't do housework.
Stop using the term Girl-Gamers, because they are exactly the same as you.
Stop holding the belief that there are Female only insults. Any insult can apply to anyone.

AND FOR FUCKS SAKE STOP MAKING THESE FUCKING THREADS!

Equalism bitches, peace out.

I think this is a somewhat relevant clip:

(The last bit isn't all that relevant though. I'm still going to call women "women and men "men". :p)

Posting in a thread about sexism.

Also, your solutions is erm... bad?

Not talking about issues never fixed anything.
Everyone looks at everyone else in slightly different ways, it's called individualism and having an opinion.
The concept of chivalry is a code of conduct that emphasizes honour and protecting those weaker than yourself. It has nothing to do with women being unable to do anything for themselves.
This principle does not exist. It's been clear for effing decades that men are perfectly capable of house-work.
Stop treating the term as if it is something special then. Girl gamer simply means female and gamer. I'm a boy gamer, nice to meet you.
Any insult being applicable to anyone doesn't mean they don't hurt more to certain demographics. I personally wouldn't give a rat's ass if someone told me to make them a sandwich but I'd be pretty damn insulted with jokes viciously making fun of Autism.

And if you really want to see an end to these threads how about not creating them yourself?

God I love Morgan Freeman, I would so have his babies... wait...

So long as there are difference between the genders, there will be sexism.

INB4 someone coming in to highjack the thread on the reasons we should feel sorry for their gender and how the opposing gender has it so much better!

I have a plan guys, hear me out...

Everytime someone mentions sexism, we make them play Superman 64 while having their head gnawed on my a drunken ferret.

Daystar, that plan is terrific, how do you come up with such amazing ideas? Here, this is for you.

Thanks guys, I love you too :D

You're the worst kind of person, utterly detestable in every manner conceivable.

I'd even go as far to say...

That's great, in theory, but they're still gonna be threads about it and someone is gonna come and post something that "no one else has posted before". Then we're back to where we started. Everyone gets frustrated, annoyed, and nothing new gets stated.

Only one ferret?

And how drunk are we talking about here?

I mean, they're small and I would imagine that ferret would pass out before any harm has been done.

You do know that you're posting a sexism thread, right?

And besides, all of those are much easier said than done because people have proven time and time again that they love to be as horrible as they can to other people.

Sure, it's nice to hold the ideal of being all-accepting and tolerant, but it's not going to get you anywhere when you run across somebody who refuses to acknowledge you with the same amount of respect he would show anyone else because you happen to watch a show about colorful ponies.

What have you done...
You realize you're complaining about people creating threads about sexism, while you've just created a thread about sexism?

Edit: Ninjas

Edit 2: We could try turning this thread into something that's completely not about sexism at all?

No one talking about it didn't really help before we started talking about it, did it? Talking about it seems to have about the same effect as not talking, but hey, at least we're talking! Am I saying 'talking' too much?

Anyway, if you hate the threads I advise you to stop clicking on them. As for me I quite enjoy them. I like feeling superior to people with different opinions to me that I think are stupid. (I'm not saying you're stupid, by the way, I meant people who have different opionions about sexism.)

The rails man, they're not really there man. It's like... it's like a figment of your imagination man. Society's chains are holding you down and like... they're like making you think you're in this invisible prison, man. You've got to like spread your arms out and give "the man" the finger. You're not going to take his shit, man. Yeah, fuck that guy.

If there's one thing I have learned from like... watching Scooby Doo and that one film with Keanue Reeves it's this important fact, "There are no rails".

Yeah man, this shit is so deep.

This whole argument just makes my head hurt now. Honestly, I want to bash my face into the keyboard over it.

These women who have issues now? Try ten years ago - or fifteen. Honestly, those of us who had to deal with sexism in gaming back then find today mostly a wonderland of acceptance. It takes time, it takes patience, and (most) everyone on this site already has no issues (and even fully support) women in gaming and the industry. Here is not where the issue needs to be brought up.

You bring the issue up with your friends when discussing gaming at school or work. YOu tell the person off who's making jokes about women or calling people gay in chat. You use teachable moments with your kids in gaming: "Why do you think Peach isn't saving herself? Do you think she can't, or because maybe she has good talks with Bowser and doesn't have anything in common with Mario? I mean, she and Bowser both rule kindgoms."

That kind of thing.

And, really, it is true. THe gaming world is so much easier to be in now than it used to be. I used to get strange looks when I went into a game store. Now there are women working at them. I used to not speak in games because I would get harassed. Now I have normal conversations. I used to get made fun of in school - now everyone who made fun of me plays Farmville and is "awesome at cOd" and I just want to slap them upside the head.

Seriously, it's getting better. Go spread the love somewhere where the message isn't already loud, clear, and understood.

My suggestion would be let's all chill out and have a beer instead, or savage beatings with a sack of doorknobs for anyone being sexist or continuing to debate sexism. Whichever you want I'm fine with both options.

Bellybutton lint? There are scientific studies done on that topic (well, I know one was done), and it would be a nice change if the issue got more attention.
