It wouldn't. What could possibly happen? It's not like everything is going to turn rainbow colored and drag shows are going to start showing up everywhere. Two people who love each other want to get married? Have at it.

It wouldent. I, myself, am not of a homosexual persuasion.

I would not affect my life. Plain and simple. Let them all get marryed, adopt children, and lead happy, butt-sex filled lifes together.

My full opinion will probably get some people angry so my shortened opinion is it won't affect me. They should bring in gay marriage but I don't like it.

well i know that for a while priests that would not refuse to marry them will be busy as hell for a while, but i think they would be happy about that

me though? not the fucking slightest and anyone who says that it will is a liar, i mean really i can not think of one credible arguement that it would affect anyone but gay people

I would be a straight man married to (probably) a gay man so I think it'd affect my life dramatically...

You meant if gay marriage were legalized don't you?
Well it wouldn't affect my life a whit point of fact gay marriage of a sort is legal here

Not quite the same but I don't really see much difference after all:

The same rights & the same responsibilities as marriage the only thing is the name's different to not piss off the religious nut jobs why can't the states that don't want marraige "sullied" just put something like this in?

It wouldn't. Not in the slightest. I encounter gay couples every day at my work, and they are some of the kindest, most thoughtful and courteous people I could care to meet.
So I guess in a way, if it did have any impact on my life, it'd be for the better.

And i am not saying i believe but, hypothetically, if the christians and the bible are right, then gay marriage won't make them go to hell any faster than already being gay will, so fighting it is stupid.
Your the first Non christian I've met who grasps that. And I've only met like five Christians as well who grasp that.

Actually I am a Christian, I just have a lot of gay friends and know a lot about the subject because my friend who campaigns for gay rights uses me to test his debate speeches.

tbh.. (and correct me if im wrong) the only reason they cant marry is the church.
Marriage has nothing to do with the church, and the US government is secular (no matter what some Republicans and Tea Party'ers will try and tell you), so it shouldn't (possibly can't) create laws because of that reason.

I know you want your thread to be popular but keep the politics in the "Politics and Religion" threads.

I have always found this a bit weird tbh, especially talking as a christian. I mean if they don't want to do it in a church I don't mind at all, I even attended my lesbian friends wedding (she's a butch 44 year old guys so at ease fellas- not the hot blonde bombshell you had dreamt in your head just now). Honestly it doesn't bother me one bit, I actually think it's a really good thing and it doesn't effect me in anyway, people deserve the right to believe in what they feel is right, just like I do. And just as I don't walk into the streets like some of my rather er wonderful brethren, and preach it in your face, forcing my own beliefs upon you, I don't mind gay marriage so long as it's kept to a non-christian event, because otherwise it's disrespectful ( oh and on behalf of those delightful christian associates of mine, sorry ^^). To put it into perspective, wouldn't it be really weird if a Jew turned up in Afghanistan and demanded that Muslim law was changed so that he could participate in an Islamic tradition? (That is only me putting it in context by the way in an "as equivelant" as possible way).

Y'know, and not much else.
