*grabs Anti-Government Pack #552: Video Game Edition*

Come my comrades, we shall rise up against the oppressors! Some of you will serve as cannon fodder, but you shall not be MERE cannon fodder! No, you shall provide the steps upon which we shall climb to the highest towers of government to overthrow the madness AND TAKE BACK OUR ABILITY TO BEAT HOOKERS!

FOR PONG!

FOR TETRIS!

FOR THE FIRST PERSON SHOOTERS THAT TRAINED ME TO KILL THE GUARDS!

FOR THE DRIVING SIMS THAT TRAINED THAT GUY TO CRASH THROUGH THE GATES!

Madness they will cry! Murder! Insanity! I say to you, is it madness to fight for the right to blow shit up with hyper realistic graphics and gibs? Then I truly am mad. And I, as a madman, shall lead you to the promised land! Take arms, my brothers and maybe one or two sisters! This day, WE SHALL PREV--*insert coin to continue*

If games were banned, I'd start a huge movement and get a petition going, crying they are impinging on my First Amendment right (obviously I'm in the states) and use further support from a renowned legal mind: Judge Richard A. Posner.

This is his discussion on"The House of the Dead":

"The player is armed with a gun-most fortunately, because he is being assailed by a seemingly unending succession of hideous axe-wielding zombies, the living dead conjured back to life by voodoo. The zombies have already knocked down and wounded several people, who are pleading pitiably for help; and one of the player's duties is to protect those unfortunates from renewed assaults by the zombies."

In sum from: http://www.freedomforum.org/templates/document.asp?documentID=15202

* Video games enjoy some measure of protection as free speech because they contain real messages, ideology and expression.

* The city has a significant burden if it wants to limit access to video games. It has to show an overriding public interest, based on more than just a hunch that violent games may harm kids.

* Kids have constitutional rights. Free speech is not something that is awarded with a high school diploma. In the court's words, "Now that 18-year-olds have the right to vote, it is obvious that they must be allowed the freedom to form their political views on the basis of uncensored speech before they turn 18, so that their minds are not a blank when they first exercise the franchise ? people are unlikely to become well-functioning, independent-minded adults and responsible citizens if they are raised in an intellectual bubble."

With the beautiful conclusion: "Young people have significant rights of free expression and their entertainment often enjoys constitutional protection."

Rally the masses to take up their arms and take to severe, violent rioting in the streets towards any who would state that steam is a method of powering trains,or a wii is a bodily function. In your face Ghandi!

I think that a certain group of people commonly known as gamers would wind up proving to those government and fox news idiots and especially Jack Thompson that games actually do turn people into homicidal maniacs. Starting with Thompson.

Public nudity and lesbian antics.

Hey - games are my entertainment in MY HOME. If my home is no longer a private sanctuary, then stuff it - I'll have my fun on the street.
Yeah, I'd probably take up my old vices and add some new ones to boot...

I would start killing people.

Games don't create killers, they suppress them giving us all the abillity to inflict these primal urges on little (or big depending on the size of your TV) virtual people in the household. Without games the situation will be much worse.

When the anti game parents die out of old age the young ones grow up to replace them, restarting the trend. so the problem would resolve itself.

But if it stuck I would start a underground courier organisation that uses rooftops and free running to transport games to those who want them. I would speak to my runners over an earpiece, reffering to the runners as "kid" and to coffee as "Jo". Then I would get killed in a heart-warming fashion just after taking a few of the bastards with me!

Or I would get used to it.
GAHHH!!!
THAT'S FUCKING WEIRD, im playing the mirroors edge revew in the background.
Well I CAN read minds you know :D
Just kidding but hey that's quite a coincidence.

Well I have a life outside of video games so I could live without them.

I would substitute that time with manly things like lifting weights and commenting on ladies' nice parts, as well as do crazy stuff on motorbikes and what-not.
