How you choose your friends on the escapist?

I add anyone who adds me, as well as all the commies I can find.

...Dear god how did I manage to make that sound so lame? Well anyways, I've only ever added one person as a friend myself, the rest of my puny amount of friends added me and I accepted, simple as that.

But then i'm still a newbie to the escapist!

...Or not, whatever, not like it'll hurt my feelings or anything if you deny my request...

I haven't been added, or attempted to add anyone as of yet. I don't really see the need, as I haven't encountered anyone who I would want to communicate with on a personal basis.

Rule #1: Anyone who adds me gets added back, by default. That's automatic, even if I think the person's a complete douchebag. They added me, they can't be all bad.

Rule #2: Anyone who has a lively discussion with me in a message board thread. You create a quote chain with me in dire need of a snip, you get friended.

Rule #3: Anyone who I think "if I ever get a chance to meet this person in real life, I'm checking my vacation days and booking a flight." Note that Rule #3 is usually satisfied by Rule #2, but not always. Sometimes a bunch of little comments beat one big chain of 'em.

I don't really use the friends feature on the escapist much.

They add me, I add them back. It's nice and fun, and allows me to get a few friends whilst generally being mysterious and enigmatic *shifty eyes*

I find it to be a fun feature. I can sometime use it to get even with "You-know-who".

EDIT: I'll add you if you're not an asshole. I'll certainly add you if you're a good looking girl.
