I want to play it but have issues with the gameplay, and I cant play it until its atleast £25 becuase I feel BW need to lose money for cutting content to use as dlc.

So I will play it eventually, but the more I hear the more I hate.
Less that half of what you pay for a game goes to the developer. The rest goes to retailers, transport, storage and a dozen other things. The DLC is a measure to try and get people to buy new games over trade-ins which give a grand total of 0 to the developer.
I can pay £40 for a new game, just like others, and have to pay extra becuase I didnt get it before the 11th, how isthat fair ? iIts not buy new dlc, its bullshit.
Fadeshear and The lion of Orlais are the only things you don't get. The Black Emporium and it's quests, the Mabari Warhound and the other stuff on the Dragon Age site are still available. http://dragonage.bioware.com/da2/info/bonus_items/

BioWare/EA only gets about £18 of that £40 so you should reall be more pissed off at the retailer who is making about the same amount. They set the prices and could afford to sell for less, they just don't want to.

First of all, to all the people who just post a one liner colling it "dumbed down", could you elaborate? I can't find much that's "dumbed down" at all, and many things have been vastly improved. Just stating you think "They changed it, now it sucks!" just makes you sound silly...

Now, back to the game. I was suprised at how my expectations regarding companions were quite mistaken. I was expecting to like Fenris, but he turned out to be an emo asshole. I was expecting to like Carver, but he turned out to be a raving douchebag. I was also expecting to dislike Aveline, but she's actually one of my favourites. Also, Varric is just pure awesome!
-The dialog is now summarized response text instead of the entire response.
-There are less ways to equip your character. Restrictions on non PC equipment
-Gift Giving isn't as open anymore.
-Fewer tactic slots
-Game takes place in basically one area
-Fewer skills. Herbalism, Poison making, trap making, etc. have either been removed or combined.

That's all off the top of my head......
Weirdly I actually like the summary response, which I didn't think I would. Honestly, now that i've got a voiced character i'd rather just tell them my mood when I enter the conversation and just let it play out.

Also I wasn't really a fan of the clutter with the herbalism, poison & trap making though that's more of a personal issue.

Oh well, to each their own eh? ;D

Sebastian isnt free, 560 mS points, like I aid its bullshit.
Which is part of the Signature edition along with the soundtrack and the in-game armory. That's not what you were talking about, that was for pre-ordering before January 11th. At no point is Sebastian necessary.

I'm liking it quite a bit so far, though I admit certain things give me mixed feelings. For one, the way the story focus is different. It's less Lord of the Rings like sure, and it makes it feel less epic (So far), but the fact that it gives a more personal focus does give an interesting change of pace for an RPG.

Also, while I am a bit bummed I can't change the armor my companions wear, it does at least save more for me, and indeed, makes my inventory less cluttered.

I do wish that camera would go back further, though, and I do miss the tactical view.

My xbox disc drive crapped out :( So for now I'm sitting here with a signature edition and I'm really stuck just enjoying the demo until I can get it repaired today...which might not happen due to a snow storm.

Most important post in this entire thread. I think bioware doesn't approve of elf on elf.....

Anyway, I am not to interested in DA2, because (note, this is my OPINION), I don't like the summary and I don't like being hawke. Apparently beyond that combat handles more or less the same or better. But again, hawke and convo issuee....

Liking it a lot. First sequel in a while to make me actually give a revelatory "Ohhhh!"

On Merril's recruitment mission, when she calls Flemeth back from uthenera. I was like "So THAT'S how she came back after my warden gave her a cold steel rogering!"

Honestly, I don't get why there's so much hate towards Flemeth's new look. Clearly, the guise she presented to the Warden was not her 'true' form. (Probably because Alistair would have flipped his shit.)

And I'm liking not spending half my time in the inventory window too. Having loot divided into weapons, hawke's armor, consumables, trinkets and vendor trash makes management so much easier. I'll probably get flamed for that, but at the risk of paraphrasing yahtzee, I'm playing DA to be a hero. If I wanted to play elfroot logistics manager I'd be on farmville.

I don't have the import issue. Imported my Dragon Age: Origins save, with all the DLC, and I've already run into a few quests that are exclusive to the path I took in the original game. Ran into the remains of Harrowmont's family (I chose Bhelen). Ran into a messenger from Warden's Keep referencing the research the Mage did (I chose to let him live). The Dalish said that my hero was part of their clan (he is), saw a former werewolf that I cured(I did)...so I dunno what they are talking about.

Agreed. I spend more time in shops in this one too, browsing to see if they have new selections, since I don't have a metric ton of junk armor in my inventory now. So I like the new system. I've only crafted a few potions, but the system seems better now, from what I can tell? Can you only use resources once?

That's what I was telling people about Flemeth too. Her having the "Rita Repulsa" look probably wouldn't have gone over well with cry-baby Alistair since he was already going nuts over her old hag look. I think the new look works pretty well, especially with how her voice actor changed the performance to be more confident. I had the same reaction when I did that quest too, I went wide-eyed and muttered an "Oh shi-! My Warden isn't going to be happy!"

Feh, elves are androgynous, pretentious jerkwads. The real problem is they won't let us be Dwarves.

Yes and I pay the same price as them.
Neither is all the other crap, but you mentioned that.
A character > weapons.

Its bullshi, I didnt have the money then so now I pay extra.

Keep trying to justify it though, many BW fans have, I am sure letting them do crap like this will have negative effects when they realise its ok, and start going further, whats that you want to have a companion aside from the dog, money plz.
I didn't have the money either but places accept about $5 for any preorder and I paid off more when I could. You can't suddenly call them satan because you didn't want to do something, that's what preorder bonuses are for, getting people to preorder. Every developer does it. You want to talk about bullshit check out the L.A. Noire preorder stuff. It depends completely on where you preorder and if you don't preorder from the right store you get miss out on extra cases and shit.

The fact that I have the game and can't play it because of some ridiculous "Release Date Check" is irritating me. You're not stopping piracy, you're just pissing off all the people who pre-ordered.

It's not as good as the first one, but it's still a very good game on it`s own, i think a lot of people would enjoy it a lot more if they stopped comparing it to da:eek: or something else. I just finished the deep roads mission and is it just me or is that dworf that keeps saying 'enchantment!' is creepy as hell?

You shouldn't have it before the release date.....
