Whether it's with Legos, Playmobil, Mega Blox, K'nex, or whatever you use, building toys are fun.
Sometimes you'll just build a little spaceship, but sometimes you'll craft an entire city.

Share your memories with your favorite building toys, and the massive erections you built with them.

For me, it'd be the awesome restaurant/ hotel/ resistance base/ police station/ whatever else it was that I built in about the third grade. It had a cool elevated road system next to it, and I used that to reenact the opening level of Sonic Adventure 2 with minifigs.

With Playmobil, my sister and I made massive castles, with dungeons and towers and such.
We'd have huge wars between multiple factions, but I was too young to understand the deep racial tension that was going on.

I once made it to like a metre tall while playing jenga! Does that count?

I think my best lego creation was a cargo jet I built when I was 8 that had room for two cars or trucks on it. Once I was done with it I tried actually playing with it and realized that wasn't fun. Then I started getting all philosophical (What purpose do I serve by creating a plane with no intention of flying it?). I think thats when my childhood started to die...

Is it just me or did anyone else blunt the pointy bits of treble fish hooks just so their lego ninjas could have grappling hooks? I mean, you can't be a ninja without a grappling hook, right?

I'd build the exact same lighthouse with lego almost daily. Never tried to build anything else, I was good at the light house and I was damm proud of it

Anyhoo, I still have all my Legos, and still play with the from time to time.

There were a lot of downer threads today.
I felt I needed to lighten the mood.

Thank God. I read the title and thought the same as Macgyvercas, now I feel much better... I poped in because I was curious, however.

Anyways, I had two huge tubes of legos, and would beuild all sorts of crap. What had to been my biggest was when I built a small town, reminicent of Hyrule Castle town from OoT. Would have little RPG adventures all the time (I was 12 at the time, fuck off!)

I once (Actually, quite a few times) erected a 30 meter tall antenna mast.

It was VERY phallic.

Was it really lego? Or was it actually a smelly flower ... an amorphophallic giant flower perhaps?

OT: My brother was always the one with lego, so I never got to learn how to make stuff with it. And now we only have awful lego pieces, which makes me sad because it means I can't make stuff.

I still have all of mine. I remember building the sets, leaving them up for a week, and then using the pieces to build magnificent representations of what was in my head. A lot of it usually ended up with Darth Vader storming a castle next to Harry Potter and a ninja.

No, it was an actual antenna.

Still, we do have to build it out of about... 15 or so pole parts, a tripod, and about 80 pounds of high strength steel cable.

So its kind of like a huge lego set... that can fall down and kill you...
