But for squirrels, you're not going to hit them with a bow. Not unless you're a crack-shot. But a bow will probably get you less attention so, go for it.
As long as your not torturing the thing hunting is fine. Just ignore what other people say about hunting. Sometimes its needed. And since you said they were breeding like crazy and that your gonna eat it your helping the ecosystem and not just throwing away the rabbit.
Actually Portuguese also have plenty of Bull fights. We are knowed for the Forcados a bunch of guys facing a bull and calling him names, till the bull decides to rush them. But I really hate Bull Fights. They cut the horns of the bull and sedate him before the match and its just evil to give a slow and probably painfull death to the bull.NoMoreSanity said:

As a hunter myself, I think that picking off a few rabbits is fine, but you should really use a more effective weapon (judging by how much it took to kill the rabbit you shot, you'r probably using an old "crank & shoot" BB gun). I would suggest that you get a hunting style pellet rifle, or at least a "pump" action gun with hunting-pellets.
Above anything else I would suggest that you use a .22 rifle, as it will give you a definite clean-kill. Of corse one of the previously mentioned pellet guns will work fine if you live somewhere where all guns are banned, to close to other people, or simply not responsible enough to properly handle a firearm.

And just a quick warning; I don't know the laws where you live, but over here shooting a bow is considered as "discharging a firearm" and if someone really hates you, they can report you as such if you were doing it within 500 feet of their house/property. You should be fine so long as you don't piss anyone off.

I would say go ahead, as long as you'r mindful of where you'r shooting (and can actually hit a squirrel with a bow). They sell special "impact" hunting arrows for small game if you don't want to impale them to a tree.Internet Kraken said:

Personally, I don't really have any desire to hunt. But, it doesn't really bother me if a person kills something and uses the meat; at least it seems like there's more of a good reason behind it. And I do realize that sometimes it's necessary, even for the animals' benefit.
I'm not really a big fan of going out in the woods and killing an animal just to mount its head on your wall. That whole idea creeps me out a bit. Then again, to each his own I suppose.

First of all, learn what type of weapons are appropriate for hunting certain animals. It's cruel to put an animal through unnecessary pain, and beating one to death is just senseless. A clean shot to the head when you caught it would probably have sufficed.johnman said:

As for Forcados when the bull charges them they in the right position so when the bull rams the first guy, the guy that got rammed gets hit on the chest and grabs the bull by the head and the other forcados quickly jump on the bull so he gets tired and doesnt ram the first guy into a wall were he could actually te hurt. Apart from getting rammed into a wall only losing the grip of the bull and get trampled is dangerous.

I just get the funniest picture of him wildly screaming and falling about trying to crush the rabbit to a pulp, just the fact he had to do so much damage just to kill this one rabbit. Death can often be completely hilarious, like the time I accidentally pushed my friends cat out of a window, where it fell in the way of a truck, and all I could think of was.
