Congratulations Simalacrum.
Not, I must stress, on going Gonzo, but rather for taking your time to get there.
I may be wrong, but I'm guessing that at least a good portion of those 1000 posts you slowly made were in some way an actual contribution to the threads you posted in. As opposed to the way the vast majority of people with ungodly high post counts for their join date, myself included, attained that title. By posting just for the sake of posting, no matter how pointless the comment.
As for your questions.

If you have Gone Gonzo (or more), how long did it take for you to get there?
Within a month of joining, most of it was pretty pointless comments.
That was back when Gonzo members were few and far between, and even regulars who had been around for a while would generally have only a 1000 or (if they were really enthusiastic) 2000 sized post count. For most people at the time, I and my ilk were viewed as pointless and spammy idiots, which is a fairly accurate description. The fact that 1000 posts took me a month is more a source of shame than anything else. The remaining few thousand in my post count, however much that is, have taken me the last nine months. Which is a decent improvement. I think.
Later on, post count ratios went way up and now 1000 posts in a month seems like nothing.
Did you care at all about going gonzo?
I did at the time, I remember there was a few posts from others saying something along the lines of either "*sniff* they grow up so fast" or "It took you only a month? Don't you have a job or something?"
As the number of Gonzos grew, and the speed at which other new Gonzos were posting to get there increased, the title lost the importance it used to have.
If you haven't, do you wish to Go Gonzo?
Well I am, but if I could go back and delete all the pointless shit I've said over the past ten months, I wouldn't be bothered if that took my postcount to below Gonzo levels.
