If I need help, I wouldn't expect an organ to be given to me, as I have not signed an organ donor card, but if they wish and do give me an organ then I'd be fine with it, I just don't really expect it.

Not really, Your body, your choice, just like someone else's choice to decide to give you their organs.

Pffft me personally, I'd give my organ to someone who desperately needed it.

Evil, no, of course not. There's many reasons, including religious ones, why people choose not to donate their organs.

However, I would ask you this: What are you really going to do with your organs when you're dead? If you're not using them, I say, give em to someone who can. Being an organ donor doesn't mean they're going to let you die or anything if you get into a bad accident just so they can steal your kidney or something.

That's the first film to ever bring me near tears. I haven't cried since my uncle's funeral when I was 12 (I'm 20 now), and I used to be a really sensitive kid before that. Nothing ever really moves me emotionally now, except for that film. A bloody good performance from Will Smith, I think

Bacteria naturally decaying and decomposing my body V.S surgeons cutting my cold body open to pull out the useful part of me before I get to be buried. Or burned. But yeah, as I said, I'd probably turn down an organ transplant, unless I felt that I had some purpose left in life, and if someone saves my life, I'd sign my card the moment I could and save theirs.

Well then you've got a good reason for not being a donor. I thought about that to a bit before signing the card but after a while I chose to donate. I know it is not the easy thing to decide and if you feel that way then I'd say their is nothing wrong with you not being a donor.

I don't have to give up anything from my body if I'm dead and I shouldn't be made to feel guilty about it. FFS I've given up most of my sanity and sweat blood and tears. What more do people want?!

I mean sure I might give over a Kidney, but unless someone I care for is in desperate need then leave my corpse the fuck alone.

Well then you've got a good reason for not being a donor. I thought about that to a bit before signing the card but after a while I chose to donate. I know it is not the easy thing to decide and if you feel that way then I'd say their is nothing wrong with you not being a donor.

At least surgeons aren't eating it. I wouldn't worry about being hacked apart before being buried though. Funeral homes will always touch it up so it looks good for the viewing first.

There are some people who can't donate their organs. They are not evil, even if they didn't want to donate their organs. My philosophy is just "well, I don't need them".

If you are not a donor then you are not allowed to receive donor organs. Seems fair to me. Why can't that not be a law? Maybe they should make everyone a donor by law, but you have to opt out. If you decide you do not want to donate, then you are screwed if you need a transplant.

What about people who can't donate organs due to their frail state or failing? Should we deny them an organ?

Fine, I'll elaborate. Personally, I dont think anyone that isnt an Organ Donor should get other Organs. I mean, hospitals have waiting lists for Organ donors and if you're older, and may not have the time to use the organ, they could skip over you and give it to the guy after you who's younger and ruining his heart with fast food. So its just hypocritical to expect an organ to be there for you when you dont want to give if the time and your number comes up.

Then again, i never got the point why they even need it. I mean... you're dead. What are you going to do with hte organs? They just get ruined or taken out in the embalming process anyway.
