I too stayed out of the whole feminism related threads (like Dragon Crown and Anita etc) and other controversials stuff. I ain't sophisticated enough to form my comments to be well written nor do do I really cared about it (why the hell some people get so worked up about it, it's fun to played games right?).
Also these days I just stay out of MLP threads even when it's not related to EN but in saying so I also staying out of EN threads aswell.
What's EN?
EternalNothingness, our resident brony thread-maker who has a fame for whining about ponies or Mass Effect. Somebody made a gif about it and it's very popular around, but I don't seem to find it anywhere just now. Also I hope I'm not offending the mods by thus replying, but after seeing that gif so many times go un-modded I just assume we've all agreed on this description about EN for a while now.

I stay out of every thread, basically. However, I'll admit I read the feminism/sexism ones for no other reason than to confirm that it's the same people repeating the same things again and again and again for all eternity.
This includes the "existential nihilism roolzzz" threads for me. I mean, how anybody (who's not a teenager) can maintain such a philosophy I'll never know.

Anything involving guns, politics, feminism, ect.

Mainly because I don't feel I have enough knowledge about any of those things to really form an opinion without pissing someone off. And even then, I avoid them so I don't piss someone off.

It's been happening a lot recently, which is a little sad.
The R&P section is the worst, it's just people screaming and arguing over things that don't need to be argued about.

When I see a user lose their shit over someone's opinion, I just leave the thread straight away. Or there's some people I see and think "Oh, YOU'RE here, are you? I'll just leave then..." because I see them argue with more or less every single post and I can't be bothered fighting with people on here.

Sometime what I want to say has been said too, so there's no point repeating it.

Any thread that has to do with politics I steer completely clear from, mainly because Conservatives and Liberals piss me off. In most cases, I find that liberals aren't as liberal as they think they are, and conservatives aren't as conservative as they think they are, and so far I haven't found anybody that enjoys me pointing out their hypocrisy.

The one's you mentioned are ones I tend to stay out of.
Along with those, I also tend to stay out of hate/dislike threads like "[movie/game]... disappointed".

And I don't like going into some of the more philosophy-heavy ones because there's almost never a "right" answer to those and some people's opinions in there scare me a little bit. "There's nothing inherently wrong with murder" is an opinion that's completely valid, but it scares me that some people on here say that could kill somebody and think nothing of it.

And I stay as far away from the Politics/Religion board as I can get.

You mean this one ?

OT: Everyone's covered the usual suspects, I'll also drop straight back out of a thread if it seems to have devolved into two sets of separate arguments that happen to share a thread.

Conversely, I'll always check the more fun/unusual threads, just because I usually need the break from all the flavour of the month ones.

I'm currently giving that thread about the 10 year old raping the 4 year old a very wide berth.
I actually looked into that and the mods really need to change to title to reflect what really happened. The title itself was designed because the OP thought it was okay to be "sensationalist" with it.

I definitely stay out of Religion, and Politics. Not just such threads, but the entire section.

While I enjoy Anime, I don't talk about anime, really, either. I don't keep current on it, I don't watch a ton, and most of my experience is generally old anime. So, yeah, no hip, trendy shiz here.

I also avoid threads looking for perosnal info. Pics, names, etc. If it's not in my profile I generally don't talk about it. :p

The latter 2 I might look at, maybe post in once in a while, but generally, I'm not interested.

I can't say I blame people for avoiding the gender issues in gaming threads since I frequent them, being very passionate about the matter. I see a lot of people using poor defences I generally tore down on different people. Progress rarely gets made, unfortunately, either in convincing others, or changing the way things are going.
That's all I'll say on that.

Out of curiosity, what made you choose to enter this thread?

OT: I'm finding more and more that I can't stick around in threads that talk about privacy, or really anything politically driven.

Or any thread that involves both EA and The Consumerist.

Also this.

I don't see why a gaming forum needed to talk about that.

"Immaturity in Gaming", currently at 31 comments.
This one isn't what you think, in all probability.

It's about doing immature stuff in games, not some soapbox for how gamers are immature.

Hey, hey what's wrong with EN threads? The last lot have been pretty decent! He ain't THAT bad surely. He talks himself in circles and solves his problem in his own OP sometimes and can be over-specific but hey, at least it's interesting right?

Or did I miss the part where he committed some heinous crime against The Internet earlier on?
I just get annoying with his ways for overthinking every single things especially cartoon shows. I'm more of the type who take it for what it is then to seek out the whole undertone that could be in it (unless it intend to have the hidden tone in it).

Sure I do think about the hidden meaning or message to a show but at the end of the day I still enjoyed watching a show and don't let the meanings interfere my enjoyment toward that show. Yes there is nothing wrong to find deep meanings to a simple cartoon shows, I just simple stayed out of it as this thread topic is titled and not comment on it, otherwise I would ended up flamebaited about it.

I'm not going any further my beef against him as it could be seen as a personal attack.

Yeah don't get me starting on his infamous stunts in the past!

I like talking about games and gaming - that's why I come here, well that and content. I can't comment on half the content because I live in fear of the "low content" smack-down and I can't comment on a ton of the threads about games and gaming because they turn political faster than I can get to them most of the time. Sometimes I'll chime in on them anyway, but less and less do I find myself posting more than I'm saying right here in a thread like this one and that is kinda a bummer.

At this point?

Pick a thread; any thread.

Pretty much any thread that involves gender and/or sexuality issues, and politics. I stay the hell away from those threads now because, quite honestly, I'm really fucking tired of being quoted to hell and back for typing something that might upset someone.

Because opinions, am I right?

I stick to thread about gaming, or innocent ones about things you like for breakfast. Serious political and social issue threads scare me too much. It's also nice to hide out in forum games too while flame wars consume everything around me.

Mass Effect threads, for the most part. Ever since the whole ending thing happened they became really unpleasant.
Peh, tell me. I haven't even bothered to buy the third title because some people couldn't hold back with direct / implicit spoilers and the whole "internet is on fire" thing totally killed it for me.

And i've played both ME 1+2 around 5-6 times each <.< Even managed to get my original saves through several pc changes / resets.
