It's interesting to watch. She isn't particularly funny or anything but oh well.

PS: Anyone else noticed how a bunch of the people at the escapist who contribute videos and reviews with a smile on their face and a great attitude and personality gain at best, a meager fan base. While Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw from Zero Punctuation can just blatantly say whatever he wants and still have a hell of a lot of adoring fans and no ramifications? Sorry, it was a bit off topic but I wanted to mention it for peoples opinions.
It's mostly because Yahtzee tells it how it is and doesn't pander or beat around the bush. It's the same reason people like Bob. The video game community is flooded with pandering and what not so it's nice to see people tell it how it is and be entertaining while they do it.

Lisa is obviously pandering to a certain type of audience and playing it up with the whole "I'm hawt grrl gamer lawlz!" so it comes off as slightly if not flat out annoying. It's something to watch though, so I'll keep watching it until the it gets to far annoying or gets to the point where it's just pointless.

Well... I'll say why I like it.

Is it particularly funny? Not too much. It is however, entertaining. Of course, I like lists. They are amusing because in a sense it's like seeing opinions and such. You can agree or disagree. And you can even be spurred to think what else would fit those lists. Because everyone is valid.

Seriously. Look at some vehicles video game charries, drive. Outrageous. And the last one, before nicest dressed guys? Some girls have weird hair.

Honestly, not all shows on this site need to be this big deal. Why does everything have to be this long, intricate article or vid about videogames? Why can't it just be something to do just for the fun of it? Why does it really have to make you think long and hard and for hours or says after it came out? Why the heck should it have a point? Unskippable doesn't do anything except make fun out video game cutscenes. And it works.

Just take the thing for what it's meant to be.

My opinion is mixed when it comes to Lisa. Like some of you guys, I think her delivery is a bit forced- but then again, maybe it needs to be so in-your-face to get the attention of the audience she's seeking. Knowing a lot of gamer girls myself (and having a girlfriend who is an avid gamer, lucky me :D), the whole "ZOMG SHE PLAYZ GAMES" aspect is lost on me.

That being said, I'm idle-minded and like Top 5 lists. Sue me.

The concept of a thread is to talk about something.

I don't create threads like, I like pancakes for breakfast.

Whether or not I agree with you, I hate it when people write things like the first two posters. What the hell is the point of a discussion forum if people didn't share opinions?
Because this opinion is entirely personal and did not carry any sort of relevance for anyone except for the poster.

I mean... what do you expect us to "discuss" about the subject?

"I don't like lisa"

"Well I do, so you're a doo-doo head!"

"Well you stink 'cause she sucks!"

...and so on. It's a useless subject.

/S
There is never an opinion with no relevance to anyone else, it's probably unpopular but I don't see anything wrong with it. That said, he didn't articulate why he didn't like it just said that he didn't like it which isn't good enough.

However, that is no excuse for pointless posts. You "just don't watch it" people fall into that category. You know, you don't have to post, but of course you do because you want to be heard.

It is very cheap lowest common denominator stuff, and not funny. And she's not even particularly hot, which is clearly what they're going for.

I'm actually rather insulted by the whole thing because clearly some marketing team sat down somewhere and thought that people like me would lap this stupid shit up.

I'm not that much of a stereotypical lonely gamer asshole, show some more faith in your readership, make something challenging, and no I don't mean like Moviebob's pretentious new show.

I really cannot stand the show, here on the escapist. Top 5 with Lisa Foiles isn't particularly funny, informative, generally entertaining or insightful, so I really have no idea why it exists. That's not to say anything about anyone working in production with the series, but I cannot stand it. Erm... anyone else? If you do enjoy it, state why.

inb4 "people have opinions" junk. As I always say, "Opinion's can't be wrong but they can be stupid."
I agree, opinions can be stupid, like yours for instance. I'm sorry that you don't find the Top 5 to be interesting especially considering that it along with all other content on this site was created specifically to entertain you.

And for the record, I don't like people who complain about entertainment they get for free but you don't see me creating a forum post for it.

Out of curiosity, do any women actually watch that show? I tried one episode (I think it was this week's) and immediately thought, "Wow, this is really not for me."

Which is just fine and all, but she at some point addressed 'Ladies' during the video, and it got me wondering. Not to mention that the clothing, hairstyles and accessories of characters in games is something I think girls would be more interested in than guys. Is this just a bizarre case of not knowing the target demographic, or am I wrong on this?

Don't watch it then.

I watch it, semi-entertainment is still entertainment. It's not awful, so I watch it.There's nothing technically good about it, but there's nothing about it that's so bad I won't watch it.

"HOWEVER!" a realization in the back of my head cries, "if I remember correctly, Top 5 (An intellectuall void with a girl who ticks the boxes needed to classify to most guys as hot) came about right after I hit it with my axe (What I assume is an intellectual void Full of strippers and pornstars(who's "job" requires them to be classified to most as hot)) got axed.

Because of this, It wouldn't be sily to suggest that maybe top 5 was made to cater to the same audience and serve the same function as I hit it with my axe (That is, give horny loners some pure eye candy that is sure to get some views.)"

In short, top 5 is a less slutty (and just about watchable) version of I hit it with my axe.

Gah! A buddy of mine used to say something like that all the time; "I'll allow you to be wrong, it's okay!" Used to piss me off to no end! ;P

You're right she is not funny or entertaining, but frankly her show is not nearly as popular as other shows on The Escapist like Zero Punctuation or Extra Credits so give it enough time and if the views are not high enough then it will stop, no need to create a thread for it.

I watched it a few times with mixed opinions, until deciding it kinda sucked.

This week I simply decided to stop watching it - and in turn not contribute to its view count, nor its comment section. After all, watching the show and ranting in the comments artificially makes the show seem more popular than it is.

You don't like jello omg I should make a thread about how I don't like how you don't like jello.
You don't like how they don't like jello, I should make a thread about how I don't like, that you don't like how he/she doesn't like jello

I don't like annoying, high-pitched, awkward, pandering bottle-dyed blonds.
And seeing most of the people who like it, fall all over it because they hope
she'll find them and do something to them physically. Which is a dream.
Hahaha! Exactly, to all these points.

There's a problem with the idea of simply having the actual gamers in the spotlight though, and I really hate to say it, but as of today it's still true in general...Your typical gamer has less camera presence (in all areas: delivery, gesturing, physique, jokes/gags, etc) even than Lisa does. Until a larger number of gamers are able to be knowledgeable about games _and_ be in-front of a camera without locking up like a rusty gear, we're going to see writers writing for "gamer-babes" who can't do the material justice.
But on the other side of that coin, typical people are not chosen to host shows unless that's supposed to be a primary characteristic by which the show's creators want it to be recognized. Common sports shows aren't hosted by your average football fan, it's hosted by professionals who live and breathe the stuff they're talking about (usually ex-players) who are highly knowledgeable and confident enough in their understanding of the subject at hand that they don't feel they have to over-do their presentation. If you're in the mood to extend the previous comparison, watching Top 5 feels a lot like watching a sports show hosted by a cheerleader who clearly has bigger things on her plate than discussing Brett Favre's thirteenth retirement, and for analytical viewers, it has the exact opposite of the desired subconscious effect: instead of selling the message "hot chicks like the same things you do", it spells out "want proof that hot chicks don't care? Watch this. Enjoy the reminder that your hobbies are beneath the contempt of her, and everyone like her".

Simply put, I'm not asking to have a show hosted by a slob like me that plays three hours of 360 per day and has fewer social interactions than your average incarcerated murderer; I just want to feel like I'm being spoken to by someone who actually shares and understands the interests they're discussing, instead of selling the pretense of sameness. Graham and Paul may not be Calvin Klein models or anchormen (though certainly neither ugly nor awkward), but I feel like if I ran into them and struck up a conversation about the things they base their show on, I wouldn't receive a deer-in-the-headlights look, and because of that, I'm able to let my guard down and enjoy whatever it is they decide to bring to the table.

I agree with you. I've watched two episodes and all I've hear was "I'M A CHICK GAMER PAY ATTENTION TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!11!!!!"

Dear god I can't stand people like that.

Just out of curiosity, anybody remember when someone made a hate thread against Forgotten Realms, and the creator showed up and went nuclear? If it wasn't so uncomfortable, I'd wish that sort of thing would happen more often.
That. Sounds. Hilarious. =]

OT: You are entitled to your own opinion, but could you please not come on here, and impose that opinion on other people. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Problem solved.
