The military outfit is pretty chic.

I can't play as a mage in Dragon Age, purely because i don't like the robes. There aren't even any decent looking non-circle attires to pick up later in the game.
Play a mage, then become an Arcane Warrior so you can use armor. You'll murder everything.

God, it looks so awful. Like Ezio in drag killed a dead animal, skinned it and then slung the carcass over his back and forgot to take it off. It's horrible.
This. I was so disappointed when I saw it. I was like 'Oh man, I just went through a bunch of dungeons fighting off sycophants in wolf-skins so i could now *look* like their nouveau-riche uncle? What the?'

Also, it only adds to the lack of realism - yeah, Ezio is even more inconspicuous now with his giant animal skin bolero. It has a damn eagle on the shoulder and everything! He couldn't be more conspicuous if he tried!

So yeah. I love the game, but I'll rely on my speed and agility over my armour. You know, like an assassin?

The demon helmets you get after completing the demon quest in maplestory. They completely cover my face so I can't do emtioms with my character's face.

Goddamn Elven Armour in Oblivion... Why does it look so stupid?

Although, this is Oblivion. I can mod anything I want!

Oh, and also any non-metal helmets in Dragon Age. Really, who could possibly have designed them and thought they looked good? Look at them!

I hate the way Plasma Rifles look in first-person in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Hell, I feel that way about energy weapons in general in Fallout. I love sniper rifles in those games (and the AMR in New Vegas is...well, it changed the entire way I build characters so I make sure I get 6 STR to properly use it with the Weapon Handling perk. I love that weapon!)

Not a weapon, but the helmets and extra armors in Mass Effect 2. Lot's of great bonuses, but they always cover the face and it breaks the immersion in half.
Agreed. Half of the reason I played that game was for the cinematic look of it all. If I can't see those facial muscles moving when they are talking, I feel sad =(

Yes!

I totally agree!

Honestly, they're the most stupidest things I've ever seen.

On most RPG's I refuse to wear helmets so people can see my beautiful face...

...except for my Argonian character... I make him wear that full face Shivering Isles helmet... Damnit, what's it called?

Almost every armor in Mass Effect.

It looks so weird to me when I am wearing some kind of desert camo armor on an ice world. I really wish you could change that for ME1.

I don't mind making my character look like shit if it gives me god-like stats in return. If we're talking about a 2 AC difference in a game like Diablo or Titan's Quest, I might opt for the prettier one.

In real life terms, I refuse to use a lot of things because of what they mean to others. Facebook is a great example, because I feel like I'll be including myself in with a bunch of attention whores and internet addicts just by signing up.

Helms in LOTRO because they -lower level ones anyway- look shit! I also started keeping my T-51b helmet off in New Vegas unless I really needed the extra armour because it just seemed in appropriate when I was talking to people. Also because I could then run around with sunglasses and my First Recon beret on instead. Even went to the extent of carrying Veronica's T-51b helmet as well so I could hear what she was saying and give it to her when necessary.

You're not going to mention the mage hats? They look like birthday party hats with a cottonball on top. They'd make great toys for kitties...

Oh, yeah. I'll freely admit that I choose my favourite armour combinations and equipped weapons in any game largely based on how good they look, although stats do play some part.

Not even gonna lie, I didn't use Cloud's Ultima Sword in FFVII because I liked the look of another sword better. Also, I use save scumming in Fable III to make sure my Hero weapon gets the coolest possible morphs to suit the character.

In dragon age, I never wear hats and I never wear armor sets that don't match.
And in Mass Effect 1, I always made Shepard wear the N7 armor, even though it's not particularly good, it's the best looking I think.
I suck at ME1, so I just used whatever was best so that I could progress, but I think the Colossus X armor looks best, and thankfully has the best bonuses.

Oh quite a few things. The combat armor in Fallout 3 being the most glaring example. I insisted on wearing a fedora at all times, and combat armor does not mix well with fedoras.

This, a bazillion times. Only one I could bring myself to use was the Dr Pepper bonus "Sentry Interface" - the Vertical Garrus-style eyepiece. 10% extra headshot damage, and you can still see Sheperd's mug. Bonus.

Kwasawas in Armored core.I rarely use them because even though they pack the most bang for your buck, they are incredibly heavy. It be better to grab a bazooka and call it a day
