Heh, i've had a protagonist going since I was about 6..

Used to act it out till I was late 16. I have to force myself to stop it even now (year older)

Hey, we should all post a brief over view of our stories? ;D

I know all the Chinese calender animal hand signs (which are used in Naruto). I combine the hand signs to do attacks from Naruto. I still pretend every once in a while that I've conducting lightning in my hand or shooting fire from my mouth.

I'm twenty. Also, I can do a "Chidori" in about two seconds with my hands signs. =]

I do it all the time, on some weeks a new idea starts daily. Although a lot of things are rather similar, and the ones I like most are weirdly not the Sci-fi ones, or the storming the Bastille with an army of cockroaches and using pies to topple the foul government of that small anatidaephobic village somewhere. But I like the emotional ones that would hurt, but would ultimately leave me happy in real life.

Yea, I had a vivid imagination too. The only problem is that everyone around me did not. I got a lot of odd looks when I was a kid. Good times.

Eventually, when i was around 16, I started creating my own world and filled it with characters, places, and creatures from all of my previous imaginings. Now im putting my imagination to work and trying to write a coherent story based off of this. Its good mental exercise.

I do as well. I recently developed an awesome fantasy/sci fi universe, sadly I was supposed to be learning about the wonders of sine cosine and tangent. Since that was the third time it happened that week, my math teacher flipped his shit.
While the maths details isn't what exactly how I was, I've had that exact same kind of setting for my universe (sadly, I've "borrowed" elements from legit works, so I can't put it to paper), and I've enjoyed creating stories based on what I can come up with, and recall.

I started this when I was... 12? And I've been able to keep myself entertained and some of my knowledge alive throughout the years.

The other issue I have except the legal matters is that no matter the medium I use, my thoughts are the only medium fast enough to keep up with what I think up: computers and paper... are too slow.

I'm also a bit anal when it comes to things... I prefer to be certain and "factual" when it comes to what I dream up. Even though there isn't any reference book regarding humans with Deus Ex style nano-machines in their system, or "sub-space" travel.

I suppose that us dreamers still have the "child-bone" in us somewhere, that imagines how things could be different. It makes us tick, and it makes us happy.
